Installed 1.2->1.3 patch without any problems. Now starting a new playthrough to see what really changed. As far as difficulty goes, I don't see enemies being tougher, although Quen diminished noticeably faster.
All of the sudden I got worried. Do double adrenaline abilities are still possible to get? You know, like group finisher and heliotrope together? Please, someone tell me, before I install this patch.
Where are these aspect ratio fixes and stuff? If anything, this patch seems to have removed options for 6028x1080

cbarbagallo: MAybe I am dumb, but what resolution is 6028x1080? CDPR listed 4:3, 5:4, and 16:10 fixes in addition to the existing 16:9.
You playing that resolution in Eyefinity? Because I can't get out of a single monitor. On the options tab (before the patch, because now I can't even access them) it gave me the choice to go to 5760x1080 but the screen stays centered on a single monitor. I have dual 6950s running on 3 24" hanns but can't get this thing to play in Eyefinity to save my life.
Hmmm... wish there is a more elaborate explanation of how much the adrenaline moves are nerfed. Never did rely on them that much (well I used Berserk a lot but it was much less powerful than Heliotrope) but it'd be good to know.
Some quick notes after having patched:

STILL no option to change the dialog volume separately from the sound effects volume. *SIGH* I don't know if CDP bothered testing in the English version much but Doug Cockle's voice can be very difficult to understand over the background sounds and I had been hoping the patch would bring separate volume controls for sound and dialog.

I had a custom user.ini set to read only so it couldn't get overwritten. I thought the patch would complain but it didn't. I don't have to mess with re-doing the user.ini though I wonder if the patch changes or adds anything to that file that I may have missed.

Somehow I seem to get stuck in the game of dice. I can choose which pieces I want to re-roll but I can't actually re-roll no matter what I press on the XBox controller, keyboard or mouse. I seem to remember it working fine before so I wonder if something changed or it's just a fluke.

Other than that everything seems okay so far. I did start a new game just in case.

The thing is, even if there is a toggle for dialog volume, the other characters would practically be booming since their volume is normal. The proper fix is for CDPR to normalize Geralt's dialogue volume and repack the game files.

But yeah, I guess a separate dialog volume to help a bit.
Adrenaline bar is now filling much, much slower but it doesn't degenerate out of combat. You must choose now when to use special move because you won't be able to fill the bar in each fight. Skills themself remain unchanged.

If it doesn't degenerate out of combat does it mean that it is also saved, I presume? Speaking of which, is it ok if I use saves from patch 1.2 after patching to 1.3? I am in Act 2 (Iorveth's path) on my 2nd play through, will I have the DLC if I patch now?

Thanks!

Sorry for all the people having problems with the patch, mine worked just fine. Can't even read the usual rage that is taking place @ TW2 site, but I guess those guys didn't make it here to find a helpful hand and they might feel lost or pissed off if something is not working.

The patch even allowed me to choose 1280x1024 resolution for my 4:3 monitor without a problem. While finally playing full-screen I have a strange feeling that FOV has been reduced and now Geralt takes a bigger part of the screen. I wonder if this is the case or my mind is just playing tricks on me because in full-screen everything is bigger...?

I just started my 2nd playthrough, if I encounter anything weird on the way, I'll drop it in. Playing on hard so I wish this plus all the nerfs will make the game a real challenge! (died in the prologue just 2 mins ago, so it seems not bad :) )

Finally a BIG THANK YOU to the whole CDPR team, your attitude towards customer support is really remarkable and I appreciate the way you actually LISTEN to the fans and incorporate their ideas / criticism in your patches. It probably must be hard sometimes to listen to all that whining or dealing with utterly rude behaviour, so I hope you remain cold blooded and nail the bugs when they show up. Thanks again! :)

Yes, that's true. I can hear the English voice actors, which are the bulk of the voices, just fine but the American ones are a problem for me. Unfortunately, they are the main characters so hearing them is pretty important.

I agree a remastering of the dialog of the mains (Geralt, Triss etc) would be best but seems unlikely to happen. I wonder why it's like this in the first place. Maybe the problem is the dialog came from two different studios (US vs UK) and they just didn't match the volumes very well?

That's actually a really good change IMO. Next time you might want to let people know before though :p

I'm in the same situation on my first playthrough, and I can confirm you can play the DLC.

And yes the game feels much harder, in a good way. The appropriately nerfed all the abusive stuff.

This. I can hardly hear the speech.

And it's not just the game, the 'Making of' videos have the exact same issue, where the speech volume is really low.

CD Projekt need to lay off the "Heightened Hearing" potions. :)
Can anyone confirm if we 16:10 users LOST fov horizontally just to GAIN pixels in the vertical?

Also, I see new User.ini values:

KeyboardCooldownSpeed=0.1
MouseDampX=7000
MouseDampY=7000
MouseSmoothness=0
UseMouseDamp=false

Has anyone messed around with these yet? Keyboard cool down??
Don't see much talking nor excitement towards new side-quest? Disappointed? Thought it was fun actually, some old-school grinding and then, well, that's how you make a twist! Dunno how the final talk goes in english, but in polish it's a real gem!

Do you think it's possible to include another quests in already existing environment? Bear in mind there are a few not-really-used locations like bandits hut/cabin in Act I, northwards from Troll and I guess they could extend something in Act III.
