After using the patch all the other DLCs are there - I see them in the game and I see the dzip files in the CookedPC folder - all except Troll Trouble.

I reinstalled the patch, that didn't help.
Then I erased the the registry entries in "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\CD Projekt RED\The Witcher 2\Downloads" and again reinstalled the patch...
no effect, still no Troll Trouble.

Any suggestions?

So you don't have troll.dzip in your CookedPC folder? If that's the case, then patch 1.1 doesn't seem to have worked right for you. What does the board in Flotsam say? Does it still say something about registering in order to get the quest?

He might have deleted it when updating to 1.2 due to an "invalid version" error. Thats what i did, but instead of deleting the .dzip file I placed it in a different folder until the patch was completed.
I have recently reinstalled game due to some texture problem (but it was related to drivers), so game patched automatically, but I didn't see 1.2 version in read me file, so I patched 1.1 manually and then game again applied automatic patch and it's complete now, I have found troll quest at notice board and completed it.
All right, full disclosure:

I bought the game on the first day (actually preorder) and when I was nearly done with the first chapter I simply couldn't stand waiting arounf for - literally - weeks until this DLC, on which 2 quests depended was fixed. (Troll Trouble and Melitele's Heart) . Frankly I am still pissed off about that.

Anyway, I got the DLC "somewhere"... put it in the CookedPC folder and it works fine. But with every patch, both 1.1 and 1.2, I have to temporarily remove it from the folder because the patcher tells me something about "invalid game version". (just like what PrayForDeath mentioned in his post)

But even when I removed it and used patch 1.1 I still didn't get a legit version of Troll Trouble. Same with 1.2.

Bottom line: I have it, it works, but I would prefer the right version that doesn't give me error messages upon patching.

Maybe putting the version you got into the folder tripped some in-game flag that caused the 1.1 patcher to skip that part of the patch? I don't know enough about that kind of thing to say either way, but that's definitely what it sounds like. Have you tried backing up your saves and reinstalling the whole thing?
With the original game installation, upgrading to 1.1 gives you Troll Trouble DLC. You need 1.1 in order to patch to 1.2. Patching to 1.2 gives you all the other DLC's (seeing as you should already have Troll Trouble from 1.1).
I have a somewhat similar but stranger problem. I have just started my second new game already patched to 1.2 of course, had the Troll trouble and other dlc in first playthrough, now I still have everything except the Toll Trouble dlc and the Flotsam notice board just say to register and enter game code on the board!

When I was finally able to patch the game, I had to remove evrything except the save files and I do mean everything. After the uninstall, I used Windows Explorer to locat files that were still there an removed them manuelly. I then used CCleaner and did a cleaning as well as run the registry tool in there. Once I did that, I then reinstalled the game and it updated with all the patches and everything.

Well, i'll be damned if I do all you had to do to get a DLC working! I'm in a second playthrough where the Troll DLCt worked in the first playthrough but now not the second!
You guys do know the troll DLC quest must be obtained from the notice board in flotsam square near tavern right?
That invalid message has to do with the extra files that may have been added and they need to be cleaned out. As to the second playthrough, you would think, it would work. Yeah it was abit of work. I haven't as yet finished the first playthrough, so it will be interesting to see how things go the second time through. The reason I did that, was I kept getting that invalid message when it got to the patching part. I booted into Vista ( I was in Windows 7 ) and it installed and updated fine ( I had not tried to install it on Vista, so it was a fresh install ). I then went back to Windows 7 and cleaned out everything but the save files ( I also had an instance where i had tried to install TW1 that I had to clean out as well ). Who knows, I may run into the same issue, but won't know until I get to that point in the second playthrough.
Here is what I did to get Troll Trouble:

Have the main install, patch 1.1 and patch 1.2 files ready.

1. Uninstall Witcher 2

2. Remove all files and registry entries in HKLM section (see regedit on google for your version of ms windows)

3. Reinstall Witcher 2.

4. Install patch 1.1

5. Install patch 1.2 (this patch file archive contains Troll Trouble)

Once you lear out all files and software registry entries, install the game main installers, then patch 1.1, then patch 1.2

I know there are more precise, more direct ways to solve it, like removing registry entries and specific files, but people oftn get that wrong so I give the brute force solution as its hard to mess up (unless they remove the wrong registry entries but that risk is hard to avoid if somoene doens't know what they are doing).

I complete the Troll Trouble Quest and had no errors or exception. Perfect run.

Oh, make sure your patch 1.1 version matches the edition you have. I have the GOG, so I get the patches from the GOG download directory for patch 1.1. For Patch 1.2, it seems to be on size fits all. but patch 1.1 is supposed to match the edition of the install file/disk you own. So check that.

I had it mess up for me after the patch. I explained it in an earlier thread:
