you guys think what i think?the cd projekt realesed the game unfinished with lotts of bugs the biggest resolution issue because they had a released date worry put it by their bosses and if not realeased on 17 may means problems and most important money issues?i think the guys created the game worked hard but still released the game unfinished with bugs and now the release date passed they will get out patch after patch like they did in witcher 1 when they even got out enhanted edition wich in my opinion was the finished game, same issues there to,when first released full of bugs etc problems,i think for witcher 2 after 1000000000 pathces they will get the enhanted edition of w2 wich supposed to be the real game finished now, that s the things are for games makers the release date announced it s a big problem for them
well Revial i say full of bugs because of the hundreds of topics with problems of the game and for me best "bug" it s not the black bars but the wirtings in game i get because of those bars, i can t read nothing i played 10 minutes and uninstall it,,it s really unplayeable as i saw manny complains of this native resolution, sorry for my bad english
my games for graphics run very good with ultra Ubersampling off only, but i can t play with that resolution wich makes not only the writing tinny but it s seems the games itself looks tinny dont know but it s unplayble for me,and i buyed the game from a store in my city so...it s original

This question / problem has been solved by 227image
I have finished the game once, on Hard, and the only bug I encountered personally was Zoltan becoming unresponsive when he was leading me to the Scoia'tel. And that was because I raced ahead of him through a door, which apparently screwed up his script so that whatever script controls his behavior to "know" when you have "caught" up to him broke. A reload to 30 seconds earlier solved that.

So, from my perspective, it's hardly a bug-filled game as you say.

Witcher 1 full of bugs? Yes. I sometimes wonder how I even managed to finish it that first playthrough. A lot of perseverance, I guess.

*shrug*

And, I hardly call having some black bars top/bottom (which I have since I play at 1920 x 1280) a bug. As you can see from the attached image, they're oh so horrible and totally ruining my experience. (Sarcasm, if you're unable to tell).

You do realize that there are millions and millions of PCs in the world that no single developer can predict the way a game would run?

Do us a favor and do your homework, not like this, if it doesn't run well on your PC, "it must be nuked!"
Dear large run-on-sentence,

They could have kept testing it on all sorts of machines and slowly working out bugs and such, but it's faster to release and then patch out the problems.

It's probably better this way for everyone. I was about to run around town with two swords, cutting down strangers and pretending to be a Witcher.

At least this way most of us can still enjoy the game. Maybe not at the resolutions we desire quite yet, but something is definitely better than nothing, especially when it works well for a large number of people (not to downplay how many people have had issues).
Yeah I've noticed a few bugs. Some very annoying ones too, but welcome to RPG development. RPG's are notoriously difficult to squish every bug. Theres one bug where after I spam the 'R' key for traps or thrown daggers or wahtever, I get this aweful mouse camera lockup, where the only keys that work are ESC and WASD and my mouse wont move the camera. It's happened about 5 or 6 times in the last two days.

These things will be addressed over time, dont worry!
227 i agrey with you but i waited so long for this game to play it,and don t want to break my fun with that resolution and then to know the story and don t enjoy the game like i should,so if they don t realease a patch in next 2 days i go crazy,it s unfair i buyed the game and now wait 1 week?or even more or maybe forever?they did not sayed they will release a patch for resolution oficially, only random users say this as i read it

Considering other releases by big name companies, this release is damn good IMO

I've only run into a small handful of bugs and for a game of this complexity...it's really outstanding to say the least

This is the company that basically bent over backwards to fix all the issues people had with TW1, so I'm inclined to give them some leeway when it comes to that.

And if they had waited and not released it until the resolution thing was ironed out, you still wouldn't be playing it in 2 days, or even a week. Enjoy it now, and play through again once the issues are resolved. After all, aren't there like 16 different endings?
yeah i know but the pain is greater to know others played and i have the game on my desk but i can t play it,and as for the endings it s a lott to play until reach there, nothing compares to the first impression and experience when you first play it first minutes first hours, and don t want to break that expereience and fun,so i hope they get that damn patch,i respect cd prjeckt for the great games they made but i want toooo play to now that the game it s out
and by the way i buyed the game from store and not gog online because i like the smell of the game covers and i like to have my games on dvd s most originals and all my games are rpgs,i know i could print a cover and write a disk etc but it s not like the buyed one..
and i personnaly don t like the cloths of geralt in prologue, hope later can whear other armor cooler because in all videos on witcher 2 i saw same cloths on him,no matter the chapter and in general the cloths have something froom cartoons they don t look so real like the buildings and the world in withcer 2

I've had two silent CTDs already and I'm only in chapter 1.

Each time it's from hitting Shift+Tab in steam.
I shift + tab just fine out of full screen mode and back in. But, I don't use Steam, nor is my game from Steam. ;p
