kyogen: Nah. Modern languages aren't artificial in a hardcore sense, but they are affected by changes in communication, so standards and expectations have changed since the early modern period.

Isambard: 'Artificial' in a sense that they aren't naturally developed from any vernacular. They are a mixture, sometimes only based on one prestigious dialect or sociolect with added features from vast array of spoken varieties.
I think we're using "artificial" a little differently, but I see what you're saying. I was avoiding the term because all human societies have always had some sort of prestige dialect--court scholars, priests, legal and trade records, poetry and certain types of storytelling, etc.--alongside various other ways of speaking. It's a natural part of human linguistic and social development, so "artificial" just sounded odd to me.
I just read that Saskia has a Welsh accent. Can somebody from Wales confirm it? I love her voice and if it is indeed Welsh, then I am gonna be a fan of it.

Mad-E-Fact: This is why I don't play the English version. I hate forced British accents. The Polish VA doesn't have this and I'm glad for it, it's much more immersive.

POLE7645: Well, I checked the voice cast and most of the voice actors are British, Scottish and so on. So the accents are natural and not forced.
I never said they sound fake. I just prefer not to hear easily recognizable local RL accents in my fantasy games. Imagine dwarves speaking Bavarian if you're German, or Texas style cowboy dialect if you're American. It breaks immersion.

Haven't heard that character yet (and I'm sadly not Welsh), but according to her official website, the voice actress (Eiry Hughes) IS Welsh, so there's a good chance.

I am Welsh and that is the first thing I thought when I heard her voice. SO I searched it and yeah apparently she (voice actor) lives in the closest city to me!

Some people have a this typical Welsh accent ALOT stronger than other people. SOme don't I personaly have it very weak.
