Why does the game not show what rank 2 talents do until you've put talents in the first ... ?

If you're going to make talent choices permanent(something I already disagree with) we should know what we're putting points toward. There are a number of talents I'd never take unless I knew the second talent point was worth much more. And knowing which have mutagens would be nice as well.

Don't understand what they were going for unless they figured we should basically cross our fingers when spending talents and be stuck with the results.

The info you're looking for is in the manual.
It should be in game, shouldn't have to tab out to read the manual every time I want to spend a talent.

I'm pretty sure I can see both levels in-game. Otherwise, the manual states it.
It would be nice to see both levels in game. The manual list the skills but it has typos. I.E. the manual states that you get +20% sword damage with level 2 precision when you actually get +5%.
When I go with the mouse over a skill, it shows me what the second level is going to do.
It shows in game just fine. You just have to put the selection on to skill you want to read.

When I mouse over a skill it just shows what the "next level" will do. So you have to spend a point to see what 2 points will give you. But it isn't a big deal as I always save before leveling up.

Maybe you suffer from some weird glitch perhaps? I have no trouble seeing what the perks for each talent point does. As soon as you mouse over the specific talent, it will tell you what rank 1 and 2 does.

That's only if you've spent a point in it.

I can only see the first level as well. You have to spend a point to see level 2. If you do not spend a point, it only shows level 1.

Ok, now I understand. If you don't add any point to a skill, you only see the first level, which is true.

I didn't had any problems with it in the game, though. :> So it's just a minor detail, nothing big or fancy.

There's a late game quest that lets you respec for free just once. It's no ideal and I agree that this info should be more transparent but still, just so you know.
