Hey can someone clear this up for me
This is my problem

if i see to my exe file (from gog) it says 1.0.6.41 and that the same with the collectors edition from poland (confirmed here on site) but i hear that steam has 1.0.6.50 version of there exe file ? Also why is it that the russian version already has 2 patches and the english none? the only patch is the activation patch so we can play (28 mb) what about the day 1 patch is this included ? can someone explain me this please
I'm wondering the same thing, the patch is supposed to address balance issues, the game I'm playing is horribly unbalanced.

The day 1 patch is bundled in with GOG's game. You don't need another patch for it.
Witcher 2 exe have 1.0.6041.43456 version, so i guess its not newest one. (or its different build compared to STEAM).

Even those who pre loaded way before the patch release?

Yeah that's what I've got. Can anyone tell us what it should be with the day one patch?
I don't think that this Version is the latest either.

Steam and Russian Users have 1.0.6.5 - if they don't have an entire different game, the GOG and Retail Versions are missing the 375 MB Contenpatch.
Maybe the different version number results from the copy protection of the retail and steam version?

So you can't compare the .EXE from the retail/steam version with the one from GOG

How do you check which version you have?
problem is that the retail also has 1.0.6.41 but the steam 1.0.6.50 so it's not a protection issue i think we just don't have a patch yet wich fixes bugs like that day 1 patch

Just mouse over the Witcher2.exe in the games bin folder.
I only wonder, why would an official GOG moderator state several times in numerous threads that day 1 patch is included if it isn't?

Ah, was checking the launcher and not the .exe, thanks!

Also have 1.0.6041.43456! Patcher tells me it's up to date though...

We included the day 1 patch with our install so you wouldn't need to register the game to play it, since that smacks a bit of DRM. If they've released another patch since yesterday, that's news to me.

I do seem to recall reading in the forums that Steam had something weird about their version which needed adjusting. That may be why they have a different build number.

Hi TheEnigmaticT,
do you by any chance know, why the STEAM and the russian versions of the game have a different Witcher2.exe version number than the other versions?
There is quite the confusion going on, not just in this forum ^^

Thanks

Edit: Ah, thanks for answering my question before I even asked it, great service here on the GOG forums ;) :D
