I have a key to a gatehouse, I'm in chapter 2, Unfortunately, I don't know when I got this key and I don't know which gatehouse it belongs to. Any clues? It says it's a quest item.

On the map page, there's a compass. What is it pointing to and why does it move, and what are the two symbols and the crown for?

Also on the map page, there's a swamp and a single house. Can we get there? ( past the broken bridge, southeast quadrant)

Just to double-check, we can read the books and sell them back and keep the information, but we have to keep the recipes for crafting and potions to use them, right?

Any clue who patient 15 was? Or patient 14? (seems like we should know these folks)

EDIT: just remembered other question: how do you get back into Loredo's house?

I'll answer by question.

1) I don't understand the question. Which side of Chapter 2 are you on?
2) It points to north. Basically, it's useless.
3) If you mean the thing that should be in the mist between the two sides, that's where you start the chapter (where the curse is released).
4) You can sell books, but you need the recipes.
5) Doesn't matter. They're just there to flesh out the story.
6) If you're in chapter 2, you can't.
I think he's actually in Chapter 1, he might have thought Prologue was the first chapter.

1) where you get the key?
2) compass does what compasses does, points north
3) Yes, you need to cross the river, you need to jump down into the river, then there's a stone ramp somewhere
4) you can sell books, but keep the diagrams
5) what patients? you need to explain more
6) if you visited Loredo to speak with him at night (Indecent Proposal quest), whether you go back to the house again would depends on what you choose to go with Roche or Iorveth

Those things seem to pertain to chapter/ Act one not to act two.

So , no idea what the answers to any of those questions could be, but I hope someone else does.

edit: I think only a completionist would really be able to answer these kinds of questions in any real detail. I also saw the compass and was wondering if it was like the first game where the medalion could be set to monsters or places of power. Perhaps this was what the question was about? or a similar idea?

the gatehouse key is in my inventory as well and I also do not have a clue where it was found or what it goes to, Did anyone ever use one on anything?

if you go a certain story path, is that stone ramp relevant or is it just another place to kill something? I have one play through under my belt, so 15 more story endings to find -- I cant say I am qualified to answer this one but someone might be.

the patients must be the hospital ones in the notes for that quest line. I have my ideas but not 100% about those yet, waiting to see another game completion to see about that.

Sorry again I dont know about the Loredo one. If you mean to sneak in again just for looting then I just dont know, but if you mean a quest line, then yes that is taken care of later in the story and You do get back in there if you choose that path.

Please someone who can answer better come in and share their knowledge.

I'm not sure about other questions, but I believe that the gatehouse key is the one you get while escaping from La Valette dungeon in the prologue.

Edit: I think I was mistaken - it was the one you get even earlier, when you need to open the gate for Foltest.

No, the stone ramp and the area beyond is not revelent to the story, just an area to explore, only bandits and monsters there, there's a house, but there's nothing special inside, just the usual loot (twine, etc)
oops, sorry, chapter 1 (yes, I was thinking the prologue was a chapter)

On the compass, some RPGs show whether you are leaning toward one path or the other, I wondered if anyone has noticed if this ever points to the left or right slider under the crown, depending on how you play. But I can't tell exactly what those symbols are, I can tell they' re somewhat reversed from each other, but I can't tell anything more than that.

So on the chapter 1 map, to the right and south of the troll, there's a fork in the river. to the right and south of that is a swampy area with 1 house along the road that I haven't found a way to get to yet. I was wondering if anyone else had yet.

Then, when I was doing "indecent proposal", there was a box that was a quest item, and two hallways I couldn't access inside Loredo's house, there are also several doorways in his back yard I can't open either. I may be jumping ahead a little, but locked doors bug me :D

The rest has been clarified, thanks :)

edit for typos, which also bug me

A lot of locked doors in this game. I believe you have encountered a few in the prologue.

--- I hope I am not spoiling too much for you. ---

The house in the middle of the swamp is related to the troll quest.

Don't worry about the inaccessible hallways. The box is related to a certain shipwreck item ehmmm... You get the mail box key from someone in another building and if you are on a certain path you don't get to enter Loredo's house a second time.

Sorry for being vague. Just don't want to put in too much spoilers.

If you follow the Troll Trouble quest, you get the key once you kill Dmitri (for the house in the swamp).

The box inside Loredo's house can only be opened if you side with Roche at the end of the chapter.

There is one more imperial mailbox, in the house of the guy who rewards you for the endrega and nekker quests. You can convince him with Axii to let you open the box.

I'd give you all credit for helping to solve these questions if I could, but it only lets me pick 1, so I went with the first responder.

TYVM :D
