I ran into a bug while playing TW2 v2.1. I'm not sure exactly when it started, but I began to notice that the button to access the main menu (Esc) quit working as I went into the Flotsam Harbor to talk to Vencel Pugg to start "The Scent of Incense" quest and it continued to not work even after Vencel led Geralt to his lab and I ended up fighting my way out of it.

As far as I could tell, all other functions continued to work, just not the function to access the main menu. I ended up having to use F5 to quick save my game as I had no other way of saving it.

Try this:

Go to the launcher. Open options / keybindings and then restore to default.
After that exit the launcher and then open the game.

See if it work. If it dont well...

Then i guess you could try to change the keyboard layout by pressing ctrl shift (or was it shift ctrl) while in the game to see if that fix it (it probably wont but you never know).

Since it wasn't a layout problem, I ended up just hitting Ctrl + Alt + Del and rebooting the computer.

So its working now? If yes thats good if no well i will think about it.

it's working now, yes. :-) But I dunno if it's a recurring bug or just a one time fluke.

I had the exact same thing happen last night.

Had to kill the game with task manager.

Working fine now....maybe it's a rare occurrence.

This has happened to me in 2.0 as well. But quicksave works and reload sometimes fixed this.

This has happened to me a couple of times, also. I haven't seen it as a big deal, but it's annoying when it happens. When it's happened, I've managed to quicksave and exit via the task manager. Then things were OK on reload.
