so Im at the end of chapter 1 and only these 2 side quests left before I continue but although Ive spent hours trying to find what to do and no chance...

Melitele's Heart - Requires you to find some ingredients to power up the amulet and im only missing tongue of a troll. I didnt face a single troll in chapter 1 and the only troll I know is at the DLC which still cannot be downloaded for me still..

Mystic River - This quest can be found at Kayran's Lair at the boat wreck. After you do some series of chain objectives, quest asks you to "Travel further up in Ponthars River. You may find another boat wreck there". No chance finding how to go up at the river!

Please someone help out so I can continue to chapter 2 :)

There is a contract to kill a troll on the notice board at the Flotsam Inn. And the Mystic River quest has parts in each act according to the guide so you have probably done all you can in Act I.

well ive just checked the notice board and there are notices.im sure ive done them all and I dont remember killing a troll and if I continue the main quest now quest failes.. mystic river seems to be correct though cause it didnt fail.. man im so pissed now..

There is another way to get the tongue instead of killing that troll. The crafter outside the walls of Flotsam, in that little side-town, has a troll head mounted on his wall. You can get it from that head.

Trouble is, I don't know if the head will be there without the DLC! I haven't been there without the DLC installed.

ok Ive just found out that I have to kill the troll coming with the dlc.. thanks to C17 for the pm.. though the problem is my dlc still cant download.. keeps giving connection error or error writing file retrying in 10 seconds etc.. why is that happening.

Seems as if I managed to get the worst ending for Melitele's Heart, I saved Newboy but he never gave me the amulet :/ I met him near the docks where he distracted some guards for me but didn't offer to give me it (from what I remember).

Yeah. I'm the same... checked my inventory and I don't have the Amulet, can't remember him offering it to me. The Game Guide, that came with the DPE, says that he should give the Amulet, as a reward, when you meet him after the dungeons.

i think there's another way to get the amulet.

In the prologue in the camp where you talk to the boy and the other guys about the amulet, when they ask about it i think there was a third option that says maybe it brings bad curse and they give the amulet at that moment not needing to wait to meet the boy again afterwards for it.

I can't remember exactly what I told him, though according to the Journal I told him I doubted it had any real protective properties which is probably why he never thought of giving it to me. Seems as if instead he gave me a book on dragons which I read then sold for 6 orens (along with distracting the guards).

But how did you get it? I get a conversation option to buy the head from him, he says we can play dice for it if I make it worth his while. Geralt then says thanks for the information and the conversation ends. I can play dice with him afterwards, but only for the usual money, and there is no option to ask about the troll head again.

I am assuming it is a quest bug for now, but if anyone knows how to make it work, let me know.

Yeah, it's a bit strange. Go to the tavern and find the table with the three people. Ask to play dice and this initiates a poker dice quest. Playing the guy with the troll head is the end of this quest; you can ask for the head as a reward at the end.

It's just strange that he lets you play before being "worthy" like other people, yet will only give the head as a reward for the quest.
