Having difficulty fighting with Letho in the bathroom in chapter 1,I recommend you to use daggers.I used 7 "well-balanced daggers" that I got from a dead body at the upper part of the Pontar river and reduced his hp to about 50% and then I stroke him with my sword 2 times.
This is how I fought Letho in the bathroom.Ha ha ha ......piece of cake.

Congratulations. This was confirmed as a cheese tactic weeks ago. But good for you. *pat-pat* :p
Or you can reenact a session of Modern Warfare multiplayer and grenade spam the hell out of him.

I agree! It's dishonourable to attack your enemy when he is in the bathroom

James Bond did it in Goldeneye. Therefore, it's gentlemanly.

Remember--WWJBD.

Do the daggers do damage if he has his quen up?

Goodmongo: Do the daggers do damage if he has his quen up?
I don't think so.He is invulnerable to everything when Quen is up, bombs, exploding traps, knives nothing seems to affect him.I passed the level by spamming grapeshots on the poor bastard, he never got a chance to raise his shield.20 grapeshots in 10 secs flat.HA ! take that you SOB. ;)
I don't think its dishonorable to kill Letho this way, he must be a level 36 witcher while i am just on level 11.
I must have played that level 30-40 times.tried different combination of potions and oils but somehow nothing matters.I had kayran skin armor along with golden oriole and some other stuff that took my incineration resistance to 75% still he could easily barbecue the hell out of me.I even saw a lot of youtube videos but nothing helped. So here i am 20 grapeshots later and i can proudly say this was the sweetest victory ever :)
That is the only fight that I can't do on hard for some reason. Did you have double talents in bombs when you did that? For me I throw a bomb but before it hits he either gets quen up, hits me with an aard or igni. That intrrupts me just enough for him to get his defenses up and I dead after that.
My tactic on normal was:

1) quen up at the start of the fight

2) run around like mad, dodging his ignis and aards until his quen disappears

3) stay close, use yrden: he'll (hopefully) attack you with a sword combo, walking into the trap

4) strong sword hits in his back until he blocks one of them

5) go to 2 (or 1 if you have time)

Note that for some reason, your yrden won't always trap him. Once I figured this tactic out, it only took me a few tries to beat him.

Normal isn't really the problem. The issue is I have to turn it down from hard to normal to beat him. it seems on hard mode his quen and other signs are cast super fast. I can throw a bomb and before I can roll he hits me with a bomb or sign. And if it's aard I'm usually stunned for a few seconds where he runs and wacks me and I'm basically dead. I don't know if it has something to do with the slow responses from my computer or that he's much faster with abilities on hard. But it's the ONLY fight I can't seem to do on hard.
Sometimes even I get the feeling that people with high end pc's are able to complete the boss levels more easily than lower end pc's.I tried a lot of things that other people did on the videos but my witcher doesn't seem responsive enough at times.btw I am playing with keyboard that might also be another reason
.. you know... that title just doesn't sound right... :)

Shouldn't. But if he's operating under the same rules as you do, it should (fairly expensively) shorten the duration of the Quen.

I'm a little surprised that you managed to do that without running into the loss-of-all-control bug. I'd be using Grapeshot much more regularly if I hadn't repeatedly run into this bug.
