BS. Even without Quen you can take 3 hits easily. On Normal I could. If you can't you have obviously not increased your vitality enough. If you have distributed skills in other areas then this is the consequence you have to live with. Makes perfect sense.
With quen you can take a hit without notice. Also - how the hell do you even get hit? The Boss hits EXTREMELY slow. It's like dodging a snale - jeesh. Stop Blaming other for you lack of skill. This is not a game for kiddies. Any person over the age of 18 will figure out this fight in no time.
BS. The boss used all the tentacles against me depending on the side I was on. One of the tentacles is shorter so he may not attack you with it, until you get a bit closed. Figure it out. Let me refrase that for you - You suck at this game. The boss ruled. :)

You think Kayran is hard? Wait until your first encounter with the Kingslayer.

I almost broke my keyboard on my monitor before finally being able to pass.

Then I better wait for some patch or some cheats. Can't be arsed breaking my fingers or keyboard. Those annoying button mashing boss fights just ruin the great immersion of the game for me.

Easy should be easy.

YEah that kingslayer are pretty hard, beside he also fight similar like Geralt. But it is fun because you need to be more innovative than usual. I hope nobody will complain when they start fighting the kingslayer, because this is the man that catch Geralt off guard. So, by the logic, the kingslayer should be better or on par with Geralt ability.

Although, to your credit, from what easy sounds like, it doesn't look like it is. It should take more than 3 hits without Queen to kill someone in easy. That difficulty level should be easy enough for people who doesn't think about where their next meal is going to come from. Should be easy enough to stop them complaining about why they didn't get a complimentary chocolate with their meal.

Maybe they should fix that difficulty, lol.

Easy Kayran strategy:

When the fight starts, immediately run to the left (but not as far to the point where you reach the barrier). As long as you're running, the tentacle smash should miss you. The moment the tentacle smacks the ground, cast Quen. Immediately cast a trap, and STAND THERE. The tentacle will smack you, and get paralyzed. Since you have your shield up, you will take no damage. By the time the tentacle is severed, your vigor would have refilled.

The Kayran will spew poison, then stomp about with its front tentacles. Just stand there until it smashes the bridge, then cast Quen again. Repeat the process with the next tentacle. Be careful not to go too far left, or else it will do a horizontal swipe instead of a downward smash.

Once the second tentacle is down, cast Quen, and run all the way to the right side of the arena. You should reach it about the same time as Kayran hits the bridge. Set another trap, and kill the third tentacle.

Now wait slightly to the right of where you defeated the third tentacle, so you avoid the Kayran's stomping. Once you see it pivot and start a horizontal swipe, get ready to right click (I think spamming the right-click button works). You'll have to do a bit of clicking, followed by pushing space, and then a bridge falls on the Kayran.

All that's left to do is roll up the fallen bridge and not get hit by the two tentacles. I'm not sure what the timing is, so just keep sheilding yourself and charging up until you get through.

It's a really silly looking way to beat the boss, since it involves getting smacked around silly all the time, but you get away completely unhurt...so why not?

The magic of the kingslayer is upgraded though.

Omg how can you be such a newb? I got it on normal, 3rd try. Just use the quen sign when running from the tentacles.

it took me some time to realise you can't chop off the center tentacles, only the ones on the sides. not so good design

Have to laugh at this. I think you'll find it is older players who lose patience sooner, since they just want a bit of entertainment.

It is the younger players who get all hormonal about it, and start thinking it will improve their mating prospects if they tell everyone how amazing they are at computer games.

Did you not notice the big glowy knobs only on the outside tentacles? Sounds like user error.

I was playing on normal and kept failing so I put it to easy and failed once.

Once I got the mechanics down I'm pretty sure I could have gone back to normal or even hard and complete the fight

It took me 8 times to kill the Kayran on hard.
One of them, I stopped myself, because i missed the QTE and wanted to do it the bomb in the head style, the second when I failed the QTE and got smashed into the bridge. After a while, I figured Kayran's tactics fully and easily cut the 3 tentacles without the beast landing a hit on me (I did have mongoose potion and Kayran trap, but could've managed without them after I mastered the boss tactics) and did the QTE, since it was my first time running on the collapsed bridge, I got hit twice with tentacles but I didn't die because my health bar was fukk when I got there.
Every boss needs figuring out before being able to kill it. You can't blindly charge it and figure everything out during the battle in one go on hard.
