Xibalba: how i can import the save of TW1 ?
Assuming you have an installed Witcher 1 game on your computer, Witcher 2 should find it and the save directory automatically.

If you dont or if witcher 2 cant find it then I would manually put the save in your:

My Documents\The Witcher\saves

and restart and see if that fixes it
Same issue here. I just installed it and wanted to start it tonight but maybe I'll wait until this was fixed. Just beat the game yesterday and the saves are correctly located in Documents\The Witcher\saves.
ok thx guys :)
I have my saves in the correct location, C:\Users\'my name'\Documents\The Witcher\saves but the game says it can't locate them.

I'm on win7 btw.
I didn't realise this was going to be a feature, I just deleted my bloody save to make space for the Witcher 2!

What does it do? Same sort of deal as Mass Effect or Dragon Age?

Same situation :/ in the right location, unable to import.
I put my save in nearly every directory I could think of and still no lucky - in witcher 2 directory, in the witcher 1 directory, in my documents, in my saved game folder which is a sub folder of my documents - i say we'll have to wait for morn for the answers
In the same boat also.

More or less - the decisions you made back in witcher one will be represented in witcher 2 and iirc if you completed the ravens gear quest or not, i dont know all the details but your dude carries over.
Sigh. That would've been great... Silly me.

Thanks for your help.
Imported my save succesfully. Last autosave - Order of the flaming rose. I think it has to be specifically this save because it wouldn't show any other saves in this folder. Don't know anything about decisions (yet), apart from obviously being together with Triss. But Raven's armor, the silver sword from the lady of the lake and the sword from King Foltest carried over.
I just beat the game last night for the second time, it never autosaved there. Someone else told me that too. My last autosave was from before entering the order of the flaming rose just after going into the main room. I played through all the way past the credits until it kicked me back to the main screen.

Here's a Steam screenshot link to my final autosave: Link

SEEMS I FOUND THE SOLUTION ...

move the witcher directory ... one up from MY GAMES where the WITCHER 2 directory is ...

for me it was (have moved my documets directory from the standard location)

D:\!Daten\Dokumente\My Games\The Witcher\saves

and copied them to ...

D:\!Daten\Dokumente\The Witcher\saves
FlashXAron that solution didn't work for me, but then again, my saves were in the right place to begin with.
