melitele's heart is still doable. although, you need the troll tongue, so if you didn't buy it from cedric beforehand, you'll need to kill the troll at the bridge.

I haven't even talked with Cedric yet and I can't find Einar in his shop at any time of the day. I played the game before the "enhanced edition" update and can't remember ever having a problem finding him in his shop. i see a dwarf that looks like him walking around but can't talk to him. Am I going to have to start my game over?

I have exactly the same problem. While playing EE, I cannot find Einar in Flotsam.

Ok, so, I haven't even killed the giant octopuss yet, but I've done all the possible quests up until that point. I still cannot find the dwarf in his shop at any time of the day. Gasper and the other guy are there, but no dwarf.

Don't know what causes this glitch, but it has happened to a number of players occasionally - including myself.

I returned to the start of the chapter and did the dice quest first, before talking to either the mutagen guys outside Einar's shop, or Einar himself. Then, he was there as he was supposed to be when I returned to him to play dice with him. And he remained there in his shop throughout the rest of the Act.

The glitch has to be something connected to the order in which quests are done, or something. I am unsure.

But, the solution seems to be to just do his part of the dice quest right away after arriving in Flotsam. If you leave it until much later, he seems to sometimes disappear.

I've been looking for this guy from the moment I set foot in Flotsam, before doing any quests, because he is apparently the guy who can give me a haircut and get rid of this stupid ponytail (eventually just used a mod to change his hair).

But he's not in Flotsam. Not in his house, not walking around, just nowhere to be found. So I've done some questing and and now I'm supposed to roll back all the way to the start of the Chapter on the off-chance that a quest NPC might show up in the game?

What kind of sloppy crap is this? You can't beat Einar, you can't play Sendler. You can't play Sendler, you can't get the she-troll's head. You don't get the head, you don't get the Hunter's Armor diagram or the troll tongue ingredient.

EDIT: I've narrowed it down to one of two events that made him disappear: either going down to the docks and accepting "The Kayran" quest, or talking to the two alchemists outside Einar's house who want to experiment on Geralt.

Einar was in fact in his house in a savegame just before I did these two things, and has vanished without a trace in my very next savegame afterwards.

There seems to be a connection to the 2 alchemists outside his door, judging from issues that others have posted about this - but it does not happen every time. The best resolution seems to be to simply do the dice quest first, right after arriving in Flotsam.

Even if you do get hit with this bug and do not want to return to the beginning of the chapter, the ingredients needed can be purchased from Anezka and/or Cedric.
