ASvinda: How can this happen?

I have all settings on low!, killed background processes and lowered their priority aswell as afinity :S

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JCNPsC91UIc

In the ATI/AMD control panel i have also disabled as much as i can :s

My system specs are:

Core i7 920 @ 2.8 Ghz

HD 5870 1gb

6gb Ram

EDIT: I also installed the latest directx, that didnt help either.

BrowncoatGR: Make sure you have Ubersampling turned off and also get the lastest drivers. According to tests i've seen online you should get around 30fps with that card and 16AF
Honestly, Nvidia or not, Ubersampling takes a serious toll. I have a 470 GTX and OCed Q6600 and I had to turn Ubersampling off in order for the game not to play as a motion comic.

Best of luck, and I suggest saving often, as I just had a CTD :(

Verwandlung: Very depressing performance here:

System:

Gigabyte P55 motherboard
i7 920
6gb ddr3
hd 4890 (updated drivers etc)
Vista 64

Game feels unresponsive and laggy.

ASvinda: Try these tips

1. Run the game in windowed mode.

2. Enable Vssync and force it on with RadeonPro

3. Disable anti aliasing (also in radeon pro)

4. Max the Flip Size queue in Radeon Pro

5. Enable all optimizations available in Radeon pro

6. Fake the game to think my Graphics card is an Nvidia 465 GTX using RadeonPro (google the vendor ID).
Will try, thanks
Try going into msconfig and rebooting with selective startup. Don't even have the driver/control panel load.

I'm getting great performance on High 1920 x 1200 with an E6750, HD 5770 and 4GB of RAM. Quite an outdated system.
Have you set CCC options to use in-game settings? I got bad framerates when I tried to use CCC AA.

I always set those on "application controlled"
Heh, even i can run TW2 on high settings with my very mediocre PC:

E2140 @ 2,8 GHZ
4GB RAM DDR2
Nvidia 460 GTX @810/1900
Win 7 64 Bit

Must be an ATI related problem ...
Afaik Ubersampling is very demanding, is a way of doing AA by rendering the game at double resolution them bringing it down to the one you play with, will eat your GPU ram very fast especially at high resolutions, i would recommend disabling this feature and enabling MLAA on the AMD CCCenter, a word of advice do not forget to disable this driver feature after leaving the game.
My Pc:

I5 2500 (quad core 3.3 Ghz)
8 GB DDR3
Radeon HD5870 1 GB (Gigabyte branded)
Windows 7 64 bits.

In CCC I have everything with the "application controlled" setting. In the game I have everything to ultra except bloom and motion blur (i dont like them); LOD distance far, texture memory Very Large. Ubersampling disabled (this is undoubtedly the frame killing option). Resolution 1920x1080.

With this setting I get an average of 45 fps running around the starting camp.

This actually helped, my fps is now between 40 and 60. Thank you!

How do you know your frame rate? Sorry for being a newbie on this but would like to know how to see it/monitor it so I can tweak my settings for best fps and resolutions rations.

kerrazy: A guy in the comments section of the video you posted recommended updating to the 11.5a hotfix. I'm doing it as we speak. Will report back with the results.
And the winner is? I get good performance on a 2.6ghz dual core (amd) and a 4870, medium ish settings (still looks amazing)

I have installed Ati Tray Tools, is a set of tweaking tools for ati cards, and it comes with an OSD functionality that puts a frame counter on a corner of the screen.

For the same purposes, many people use Fraps:

I can reccommend RadeonPro, it has more features than Ati Tray tools imo.
i hear installing the newest drivers, they may be beta, wroks for nvidia cards
