To CD Projekt RED,

I hate you. You've made a game that challenges my computer to run it to make it nothing short of beautiful. You made me examine the environments, looking at a gigantic overturned tree and wonder what could have forced this tree up from the very roots.

Then you proceed to keep egging me on and play for "just one more quest" or to gather "just one more crafting item" making it impossible for me to sleep! This madness cannot continue! Upon release of Witcher 2 I stayed up until the sun was shining through my windows without realizing it. I can only count myself lucky I had neither school nor work that day.

Throwing into the mix of these complaints you put in an engaging story. This is where my hate really begins to show. You don't give me clear right or wrong answers! You're forcing me to decide something for which there is no clear path! And sometimes only giving me seconds to do it! Why would you give someone this stress? Its difficult enough when you have to decide between a racist and a radical without the presence of mind that there will be a good and bad outcome for either decision!

And finally, the combat. Personally speaking I cannot tell you enough how much I lament the fact that you've made me plan ahead, made me look down into a cave and know who my enemy will be before they even appear and make me consider what it is I need to do before hand as you would if those situations were real. You have made it so I can't blindly click away in hopes of bashing my enemy to death but made every sword swing vital and every block needed.

For the potential loss of months worth of social interaction I hate you. You should be ashamed of yourselves for making a product that can glue a person to their seat for hours on end adoring the story/characters.

Regards
-DarknessGlow

P.S.

The fact that you give this to me completely DRM Free is insulting. Its like you're telling us that your product is so good that you don't even need protection because the fans of the previous game will buy this one without question and balance out the potential pirates. That's just insulting!

its nice to play a game that encourages planning
Dear CD Projekt Red I <3 you

For making a game with superior graphics that runs even on a mid range system such as mine with almost everything maxed out. The story line is superb, the game play is very fun and the graphics are incredible the RED engine is simply amazing.

Dear other RPG game makers (excluding Blizzard)

I hate you for putting in dirty protection schemes for the game so it is harder to play them, most of the games not having innovative or fun story line or interaction and the games making me fall asleep.

So far in the RPG genre and hack and slash Witcher and Diablo series are my favorites and they will not die in my heart unless there is a major fuck up :D
OH YES, POLSKA DO BOJU!!! POLSKA NA ZAWSZE, POLACY W AMERYCE BEDA NA ZAWSZE :P

I would like to second the original spirit of the original poster's post. :)

And to add:

I hate you CDPR for giving me quests with multiple ways to finish, none of which are "right" and both (or more) leave me wondering how this will affect my future.

I hate you for only allowing me 6 hours sleep in the 32 hours since installation, and those 6 hours were filled with Nekker-strategy dreams.
Dear CD Projekt RED,

I didn't know you guys were working on Arkham Asylum 2! You hid it very well.
I also commend CD Projekt Red for their fine work.

And that by choosing one route or option, it can lead to many others whilst denying you certain paths.

Er, maybe you should read the posts. Hint: "I hate you" is a compliment in this thread.

Thanks, I knew SOMEONE would post before reading, which is why I didn't even bother putting /sarcasm at the bottom, it would have been unneeded since those who read it will know and those who don't won't see it anyway.
yeah, i didn't read it fully, because i have seen lots of complaining thread at this forum since this game was released thus my mind automatically anticipate another complain. I apologized for misunderstanding, but still this thread is redundant and serve less purpose.
Lol @ wormholewizards
Didn't catch the sarcasm? ;)

No worries, you just happened to be the first to hit the pitfall.

This thread is meant to parody and add entertainment. Maybe its redundant, but one more in the pot will just go down the pages just like any others so no harm done.

Yep couldn't agree more. I even booked a flex day off work today so i could sit around all day playing it.

I dont understand why so many people are going ballistic with negative comments. The game has bugs, I'm aware of that. Games will always have bugs when they're first released, It's only when the bugs are crippling that you can feel justified in complaining.

I have a few minor gripes about the game, don't get me wrong. Like the lack of top down view forcing me to fight from clumsy camera angles, or the fact that the finishers actually go into little cut scenes now and take control away from the player mid-battle (who the fuck decided that was a good idea?), and sections of the prologue just... yeah. People who have played the game will know what I mean.

But the good things I can say about the game... I can just go on and on.

CDPR - Take a bow for the Red engine. On minimum settings I have no load times and no slowdown EVER. If I crank the textures up to medium I get some minor load times for large outdoor areas but still easily playable FPS. On high settings the game is stunning.

And while youre taking bows your writers can take an extra long bow for (among other things) making me laugh out loud more times than I've laughed in a game since Embric of Wulfhammer's Castle. And even then I dont think I laughed this much.

All the characters are.... characters! They're like real people!
The voice acting is excellent as well!
Much improved combat!
The fist fighting mini-game!

And im playing on hard and it's ACTUALLY HARD! YOU HAVE NO IDEA HOW HAPPY THAT MAKES ME!

And no one's telling me fetch that sword or climb that tree or explaining exactly how to do that quest im supposed to be doing right now!
A game developer giving credit to their audience for being intelligent? Hallelujah!
I cant remember the last time I played a game where I thought something like
"Ok so the game says I have to go open that pig pen all the way over there to lure the guards away from the jail... Why would i want to sneak past 6 patrolmen to do that when in real life I could just set fire to this market stall and accomplish the same thing... and the guy who runs it is a wanker anyway"
and then thought
"Actually I like that idea... better plan my escape route... and find some cover before i get my torch out in case someone sees" rather than just thinking "Stupid game..." and resigning myself to spending the next 5 minutes waiting behind conveniently spaced walls on the way past the guards (and no this isn't a real example from the game, I'm keeping this spoiler free).

I've been awake for about 19 of the last 28 hours since I got home from work and got The Witcher 2 up and running, and I've spent about 16 of those 19 hours playing it.
I could seriously rant on forever but this is already in TL;DR territory so I'll cut it there.

Thanks CDP, haters gonna hate but I think you've done something special here.

Glad I could make your day ^_^

And droctagon, its nice to see someone picking up on the fact that people are mentioning minor things that are wrong. For instance, the QTE fist fights. I personally find that they're miles above the Witcher 1 when it had pretty well 1 finisher move and you had the use of 2 buttons. One that punched and the other dodged... sometimes. Here the fighting is at least entertaining to watch. Seeing Geralt punt kick a guy in the face after giving him a knee to the gut... come on, miles and miles above Witcher 1.
