Dear CD Projekt,

I love the Witcher 2. I've been waiting for an RPG with real time combat for years. I'm only in Chapter 2 and I feel my dollars have been well spent. I hear the game's ending is terrible so I'm taking my time with it. I have a deal for you.

I will pay ten US dollars per expansion as long as each one provides around 5 hours of content. No nonsense Bioware DLC please.

Clearly, you should dedicate a team of trained content masters and dedicate them solely to Witcher expansions.

That is all.
you do realize 5 hours is very short right?
I will pay too, even for 3 hrs

Hmm yes, i think 10 dollars will cover the costs of an expansion made by a team of trained content masters. A deal like that one comes once in a lifetime.

Yes and 10 dollars is a very small amount of money.

If ten dollars buys 5 hours of content then a full priced game at 50 bucks would buy 25 hours of content. Seems reasonable to me.
high rated
That is the exact attitude that lead to the (near-)extinction of proper expansion packs and has us stuck with tiny slices of additional stuff that are not able to tell a proper story.

Congratulations!

And while I certainly want MOOOOOAARR!!!! of The Witcher, I want full-sized expansion packs, delivering an elaborate, profound, immersive story. A new side quest here, barbers there is fine, but I do not want it to be expanded in episodic, meaningless chunks.
for comparison, the troll trouble dlc was 3 hours worth of content.

an expansion should offer at least half of the original game's playtime. ie 15-20 hours. that's what an expansion is.

if you just want tiny little dlcs, they already said they'll be providing them free.
I don't want to pay 10 bucks. I want to pay 20+ euro or else developers may feel like not delivering a whole new experience.

But I am sure that any concern is unjustified - CD Projekt will do a fine job on Witcher 2 Addon :)
And I've already said that I'll gladly pay for them :>
Dear CDP,

Please deliver free DLC as you promised and focus your creative effort on solid and coherent expansion packs. Do not dilute a great game with short and disjointed little stories just to squeeze some more orens from fans. :)

Don't believe it! Yes, the last chapter is shorter than other, but the last half hour of game is just great :)

Especially "Fans" who apparently defecate all this money to waste on bits and pieces of content!

Anyone who wants to PAY for content when the devs are already providing content for FREE should stick with DA2 for their nickle and dime-ing addiction!
It's thread like this that give shitty big name publishers ideas. You guys want to be nickled and dimed for every little DLC? EA and Activision would love you. Go play that their side of the fence. And while you're there see if you can find our ball, those ass's never gave it back.

SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MONEY!
A nominal amount at the most, and I say that reluctantly given how DLCs are being abused by other developers/publishers. 5 to 10 dollars for a DLC, depending on how much quality content and gameplay it offers, but if the DLC mirrors what Bioware does, forget it. Free or I'm not interested. Honestly, I would rather pay more for full blown expansions (ala, Baldur's Gate Tales of the Sword Coast and Baldur's Gate 2 Throne of Bhaal).

I think CD Projekt is doing it right, though. Offer free DLCs to promote high customer satisfaction, and charge for expansions. It seems fair and not overly greedy.
