So, I finished Witcher 1 and moving on to 2. What will I get from using the save game from 1 in 2?

Certain items can be brought over, although they will not be nearly as powerful as they were in the first game. Examples include Aerondight and Raven's Armor. There are also a few places in The Witcher 2 where choices you made in The Witcher 1 will affect events in minor ways.

You will find better equipment than the imported items pretty fast, but it's still cool to have them.

A more complete list of imported items and a list of where your Witcher 1 choices will affect The Witcher 2 are on the following wiki page, but beware of story spoilers. Probably best to just use this to check the item list, and don't read the choices part:

You also get some extra coins from your save. So if you were *really* rich, you benefit from that.

I wonder where Geralt spent the rest of the gold... ;-)

Yeah I think you only bring over 1% of what you had in the first game, which is then added to the standard starting amount of 100 or so orens.

Judging from what I've read of the books, Geralt probably spent the rest of the money on:

1) Getting Dandelion out of trouble.
2) Vodka.
3) Getting Dandelion out of trouble.
4) Visits to a brothel (at Dandelion's suggestion)
5) A new leather jacket.
6) Getting Dandelion out of trouble.
7) Food.
8) Extremely expensive, morally questionable spy services.
Nice list, though I suppose not right. Dandelion left shortly after Witcher I ended, and between war and Triss, I doubt Geralt was visiting brothrels much (why pay for it when Triss can conjure orgasm).

Just another side question...the "Additional weapons", do they have any differences from usual steel swords? I found Espadon and it's currently my highest damage weapon...

Yeah, I guess Geralt had it easier between the two games then he did in the books (which I'm not finished reading yet).

I'm pretty sure that the "additional weapons" can't use fast and strong attacks like Geralt's regular swords can. The espadon, for example, can only make very slow strikes. I'm not sure if additional weapons also preclude using Geralt's swordsman's tree abilities, like riposte. They might. Generally I thought they felt clumsier than Geralt's normal swords, but the espadon does do high damage for Chapter 1. Feel free to try it out, but don't ditch your regular sword until you're sure about it. And of course keep your silver sword for monsters.
