pm87: i got 1.1 installed, but now 1.2 wont install

my file version is 1.1.6157etcetc
Have you tryed starting a game session (with 1.1) then exit, close the launcher and launch the Patcher of 1.2?

Or maybe you should connect the internet and let the launcher patch to 1.2

I had the same problem and kept getting the message about the game being invalid or something else. Completely uninstalled and then reinstalled, same thing. I had downloaded and installed a bunch of DLCs. I unstalled the game again then went looking for all files that were inther except the save files and got rid of them. Once I did that, it went well. Even ran CCleaner to be on the safe side.

When you run the 1.2 patcher, make sure the launcher is closed. It can cause problems.
Funny thing is i am still playing the vanillia version of the game i can not seem to get the patcher to work and i really should not have to reinstall or in my case re download a game just to get the patch to work. LAST TIME I BUY A GAME HERE. I understand Steam is major downloads 9+gb or something to patch, which is NOT really GoG fault as it sems to be more CDPR's fault in poor game design, but guilty by association.

Fortunately the game dose seem to play fine unpatched and i have not seen any bugs which with as much as TW2 sucks compaired to TWEE i suppose is something of a bonus. It does seem to be the case a lousey game that plays well or a great game that does not (TW before EE) feast or famine at 50 bucks a toss. Is there a way i can get my money back? probably not, so i will have to find entertainment value elsewhere, maybe here :) , might as well get some entertainment value for my money.

Are you sure that the Witcher's initial loadscreen is not open and hiding behind the folder that is open. I have the gog vs. and I thought that 'patch applied' message at the end had installed the extra patch from the Gog. however I found that this still needed to be installed then the latest 1.2.
