Hello, this maybe my first thread in GoG forums :)

There are spoilers here naturally, so proceed with your own risk.

I am trying to find Siegfried to invite him to the party... but he is nowhere to be seen! I have checked his usual spot at the guarding post near the slum area, but he doesn't show up, I even checked inside the guard post, and he is nowhere to be seen after the Force Recon quest.

I sided with the order of flaming rose during the quest and I took his place as the commander of the unit. All went well until he suddenly disappeared after that. I did a few quests after that and found out Raymond's secret (SPOILER: he is dead and Raymond is Javed using his magic to create an illusion).

I had not performed the autopsy at this point, so I did that in the evening with Shani, after going home together we talked about the party and I got the alcohol for her. She wanted me to bring me a friend, so I immediately thought about Siegfried, but he is nowhere to be seen now.

I have checked at his guard post several times, tried to find him at the order's camp near the druid's grove in the swamp and finally went to the squirrel's hideout to see if they kidnapped him or something. I even checked the sewers once! I recall him telling me that he can be found hunting monsters in the sewer, so I thought I would check there to make sure.

Basically, he is missing. I am either timing this bad or he has gone hiatus until Chapter III starts. I can't wait until Chapter III because I will fail the quest if I do that...

Any tips? Sorry for the long post :)

As you progress through the story some NPC change their behavior, sometimes depending at your deeds..good or bad.

If all location are empty it should be a bug.

Thanks for the answer DG1871, I have already check the wiki and it says that during Chaper II "Siegfried spends most of Chapter II at his post (if he and Geralt joined forces in the sewers, this is the Order outpost north of the Cloister; if not, it is at the front entrance to St. Lebioda's Hospital), at one point making a brief excursion to the swamp"

I assume he should get back the next day or so but I could not find him... I will do another search now. Hopefully he will turn up.

After doing a few missions (killing the widow's ghost husband and defeating the golem to get... the badge or something) I found Siegfried at inside the guard post. I invited him, and we had a blast at the party :)

Looks like you have to complete some other mission or wait for another day so that Siegfried can reach the guard post from the swamp. I suspect he must have been lost somewhere in the swamp ;)

Just kidding, I am sure it is some technical thing which didn't return him to this post on the same day of completing Force Recon.

Glad you were able to find him. His scene at the party is great. Or anything related to Siegfried, actually. He is my favorite character to befriend in the game.

What seemed to work for me was leaving the swamp normally via the ferryman after completing force recon. It seems if you teleport back to Kalkstein's laboratory then seigfried doesn't return to his post.

What I actually did was: teleport out, complete the wraith quest, travel back to the swamp, travel back to the city via the ferryman, and seigfried was finally there.
