Before I installed Windows 10 I had a few GOG items which ran successfully on Win 7 & Win 8.

Today I tried The Settlers and it promptly did nothing. I also tried to reinstall from the initial set up file, but again, nothing seems to have happened. Should it work OK wit Windows 10?

Update: Myst was another game I had - that seems to work with no problem at all.

Settlers III
Works on: Windows (XP, Vista, 7, 8).

There is a workaround but you won't have music in the game. Read this:
http://www.gog.com/forum/the_settlers_series/settlers_3_ultimate_collection_not_launching_justing_eating_up_cpu_memory/post7

Not all games here run with Windows 10. You can sort your library for Windows 10 games if you need help to see it.
Hi there,

here are the fixed files for settlers 3 with windows 10.

drive.google.com/file/d/0B0JN2LUzaNjrUEJScW5fT0VIT2M/view?usp=sharing

With this files my game starts and i've background music.

Enjoy your game on Windows X.

Greetings
I changed the file name to x-wimmm, changed compatibility to win 7 and that worked! I just massively failed playing the amazons hahaha

Your hotfix definitely brings the soundtrack back into the game, but unfortunately it is only playing all soundtrack titles in a row, regardless of which tribe you are playing.

For me, it is quite confusing playing the Romans while listening to the Asian soundtrack titles.. :-D

The fix DeepBlueEyes posted without credits is the one from here: https://github.com/Tarvis451/ogg-winmm/releases/tag/v1.1 - so you should contact the real author about the problem, so he/she might fix it (or the author of the other fork: https://github.com/rkkoszewski/ogg-winmm ).
Can confirm this fix runs the game. Haven't Played it yet as I wanted to come back to the forum to confirm its success, from the change of file name above. I did not use the hotfix, but the settings program included in the same folder has the option to play: all the nations music or only matching nation. Did you try changing your options so your romans do not sound like the Asians?
Hm, It starts and I can start a game but then 1-2sec later it freeze and thats all :/
Just Alt+Ctrl+Del brings me back to Desktop. The Taskmanager say ~26% CPU(quad Core CPU) load...
Swiching back to the game(Alt+Tab) give me a black screen.

Help *_*
