The voiced text of characters in this game sometimes skips ahead, where I only hear the first letter of the sentence being spoken and then it skips on to the next one automatically without any input. Sometimes whole paragraphs are skipped in a row this way. But it seems random and won't always happen again after reloading from before the buggy occurrence.

I'm wondering if anyone else has this issue so far, or has had it before with the Daedalic engine in other games. It's a real post-deal killer for me at the moment.

Is this your first encounter with such strange bug? Do you have any other Daedalic games installed?

I too am having this problem.
It happens right from the get-go, both the main character and whoever he is talking to just skips for now reason.
This hasn't happened to me in any other Daedalic games. I currently have Deponia installed and it works fine.
So I'm at a loss as to what to do, since it skips so quickly it is basically impossible to play the game and understand anything.
Thank you for any info you guys have.

I've encountered it multiple times in this game so far. And no, other Daedalic games I've played (Whispered World, a New Beginning, Edna & Harvey) haven't had this particular issue for me.

I've noticed on the official Daedalic forums that there's a hotfix released just now that covers multiple bugs already. I hope this bug is amongst them and that GOG will push it through soon. The game is fun otherwise.

Something that fixed it for me, at least so far, is going to the Night of the Rabbit settings menu (from the desktop start menu, not the one ingame) and enabling the "Texture compresssion" (that might not be the exact term since my system menus are in French) option. Makes me think this problem is probably memory related.
Yeah, they are trying to rid this bugs (text skip, that happened to me randomly) and no sound in the videos (that happened to me too).

I hope will get here in Gog that fix soon : )
Happens to me too, and it also happened in other Daedalic titles.

8 years later now I got this problem too after having gotten that game. -.-
