Just installed and started to play but can't fathom how to pick up scale from nest.

Have approached from different angles and "examined" nest but there doesn't seem to be any option to get scale.

Have tried picking up twig, talking to tree in various permutations and then going back to nest but still no joy.

Help please.

You should be able to pick the scale with the "hand"-symbol (attached screenshot).

I get this "screen" come up but only with ability to view with eye and no hand illuminated???

Hmmm, crazy.
You should be able to get it all the time, before talking to the tree and later. If the hand is visuable (not black) it is illuminated and clickable when mouse-over.
Check your inventory, maybe you got it without realizing it (screenshot)...
...or your game is broken.
