Longcat, you are my god.
Longcat... when you make an iso with the newly encoded video files... is it possible to use that NEW version to install overseer (with a pre-tweaked .exe file too) and not bother using the old dvd. Once I do the work, I plan to do a fresh windows install and then install the game to play... just wondering if I can use the newly made overseer iso to do it. Sorry I'm being wordy.
And of course switching the .exe for the patched one

For those interested in installing this on 64bit systems, I figured out that it's not actually necessary to install the game, just copy the overseer folder from the DVD to your hard drive and it should be able to run anyway. Then install RTX audio. This should also make it possible to place an already patched and configured install directory on your custom DVD, although I haven't had a chance to test that properly yet.
I'm at work and can't remember exactly but I think the update adds additional files to the original installation, hence running an installation on an updated DVD won't copy over all the required files, you will have to do it manually. But as I said, I can't quite remember, feel free to try it out. The above procedure should work though:)
I'm currently messing around with RSX audio, trying to figure out a way to get rid of it all together. But I don't know how that will turn out yet:P

the 104 patch included a new installer & various movement files, it also added the name of dvd express in the decoder list. these files get installed in the overseer folder on the drive, I was going to add them to the dvd image for future installations.
RSX3d on later systems is best to install manually & not with the overseer installer.
longcat,
what are you doing with the audio, I converted one folder to AC3 & it sounds much better but not sure if it will play, will have to test it out.
Uhm, I doubt you will get the game to read mpeg1 and ac3 together... I convert it to stereo and interleave it with the video through VirtualDub. So it's all mpeg, stereo 48000hz in the end.
But let us know how you fare, by all means.

yes doesn't work, actually I am now using tmpgenc express as it converts from vob adds the filters & then to mpeg1 but nothing will play when I burn the files to iso image. Not sure what's wrong.
It's hard for me to say, since i havent used that program. I'm guessing something with the audio conversion. The only way for me to say anything about it is if you upload a converted sample video for me to analyse. Accesslogo.vob is good.
Working on the long coversion process... long because of my small ass hard drive. I will basically get one or two directories done per day, so I figure by next month I'll have it all done :P
Looking forward to the end result.

things are shaping up fine now, sorted out the problem. Can't get the access log file to work . Converted it to mpeg & then removed the name but no go there. On the dvd & cd is shows as vob or smaker extension so maybe due to being a mpeg disk I should leave the mpeg extension showing.
No, it should be acceslogo.vob, it works fine here. Make sure you haven't got hide known filextensions turned on.

found an error with R30.033 & 044
typing error should be R32 for both files.
An error in my batchlists? Or a renaming error you made?

no on the movie file list it's mistyped.
I have finished now & was the testing one of my game files for going over chasm
R09 files. still crashes at this point, in the past I used to swap from decoder hardware to software to get over to the lab but it will not work now. Tried to use some of the cd files to correct the problem. tried using the dvd r09 files , & using the cd movie files for R09.03 & 04. previosly found also by only using the arror keys till you are over the chasm stops the screen going crazy.
Note : only the dvd version causes this problem.
also the access log does not work still, I get the overseer screen first - should get a blue sky screen & the a starwars sky theme next & then the overseer logo.
