Hey people of the gog forum,
I tried to create an Multiplayer Server but everytime I use Internet as server type the game gives me a "Invalid CD Key" message. I just bought the game today and I didn't even need a CD Key for the GOG Installation.
Anyone having this Problem too?

Is it the same with LAN / local dedicated server?

Switch from Internet to LAN multiplayer mode.

This seems to happen only with internet as the server type, LAN works fine but not really all that useful unless you want to use something like hamachi. Hope you can fix this so people can host their own internet servers from within the game without the hassle of using LAN emulators.
With LAN it's possible to create a server but then I need another tool to play over the Internet.
It would be great if it could work without the VPN LAN workaround.
Posting here noticing the same issue. I was kind of hoping direct IP connect would work in this version, without the use of a VPN like Hamachi.

Since you correctly forward your router ports from 10480 to 10489 (TCP + UDP), you will able to host a game, even in LAN mode (bLAN=True).

Anyway, I strongly suggest the use of serverlist patch, since Swat 4 community already has dozen of servers online available 24h/d.
Also running into CD Key errors here. Please get this game's MP back online, GOG team!
There no longer is official multiplayer support since Gamespy was taken down. I imagine that is also why you get CD key error.

The Gamespy servers have been down for years and won't be coming back. However, the community has figured out a fix!

Check out: swat4stats.com

They run a new master server that will allow you to find servers to join from in game. Follow the directions posted, and enjoy!

Just wanted to confirm that starting a LAN server and using Direct IP connect works fine if you just want to play privately with friends. Thanks! :)

I installed the new *.dlls that are needed and can now find games with join game.
But how do I host a multiplayer game so it will appear in this list?
When I use the LAN option and forward the right ports is it showing in the server browser?

As far I know, In-Game MasterServer is currently listening new server's 'HeartBeat' packets, to keep list updated.

Anyway, here a guide to add your server to GameTracker / Stat4Stats / and In-Game MasterServer.

github.com/sergeii/swat4stats.com#required-streaming-software

note that: raw.githubusercontent.com/sergeii/swat4stats.com/master/docs/screenshots/stream_gt2.png

Query Port must be changed to Join Port +3 or Join Port +4 (10483 or 10484), according with your Swat4.ini -> [GS2.Listener] -> Port settings. (github.com/sergeii/swat-gs2)

Don't use Join Port+2 are GameTracker Query Port!

Be sure that your server will come listed here: gametracker.com/search/swat4/?searchipp=50#search

Note: You don't need to follow the instruction to stream stats to Swat4Stats.com.
Simply Implementing the GS2 and GS1 Packages (requires "Utils" Package) is enough to become listed in those 3 platforms.

Yep same issue. No games show up when you refresh and get the same message when I try to launch a server. WTF GOG
