Game gives me a error message and won't launch, Only play offline and no Paradox account. Should I ask for a refund?

The launcher automatically signs you into your Paradox account as of late last year

You can roll back to old build/ launcher or make a Paradox account

Do you know if it's possible to play the DLC for Stellaris without the launcher? Would that work with the Stellaris Story Pack?

I’ve been playing Stellaris for years, including most of the expansions.
I never used the launcher.

yes Dlc can be turned off / on from the launcher but it doesn't have to be... the point is picking which Dlc you want to use in multiplayer games because who, ever hosts the game is the person that sets what Dlc is allowed

note: you can join a multiplayer game if you don't have the same Dlc... only the host player needs it installed

How does one select DLC for Stellaris without using the Launcher?

I do this in the most basic way: by installing only the expansions I want to play ;)

yes you can install \ uninstall as a work around for not having the launcher... i currenlt run build 3.1.2 because all later builds got fucked up by Paradox doing an untested woppie and so far the idea that the next patch will fix it is a clear, "maybe"

anyway the Ocean Dlc needs a later build so I don't use it

Is there a way to use the mods without the launcher on v3.2.2? That's all that's available on GOG right now.

yes mods work without the launcher in the way as Dlc

p.s, with the launcher you can easy pick which mod set you want to play [see image]

Tried uninstalling the launcher,still the same error. Gog won't issue a refund so I guess I'm screwed.

@flyingsub.910 you have not told us what error message you get from the game launcher or why making a free Paradox account is a problem so I don't see anyway we can help sorry

Is that a screenshot with Galaxy? I don't use that.

When I start the game with just stellaris.exe, it shows me a new game and a load game option. But I don't see any buttons that mention any mods or dlc.

I use Galaxy yes but the screenshot is of the launcher. I have a star wars mod that makes a full conversion but sometimes i just want to play the base game

with the launcher you can set which mod / Dlc you want to use [save that set as a name] then make as many sets as you like... want to try a mod that conflixs with the ocean dlc = no problem

[see image 1&2] but never remove the base set, always make a new name for whatever Dlc\ mod combo you make then you can easy swap different builds

I don't have home internet so can't set up that Paradox account. This is a form of DRM and am disappointed GOG allows this.They can keep my money but their reputation has taken a nose dive in my eyes.
