Turns out the reason for the game not working was me being on a 5 year out of date version of Windows 10. After recently updating Windows, I rebought the game and it started fine.

Getting an error that the engine failed to create the DirecetX12 rendering device when trying to launch.
I'm on a 1080 Ti, which is DX12 capable and have even played multiple DX12 games with on my PC already. Anyone encountered this? Internet did not help much other than that the minimum requirements are complete bogus. There are videos out there of people running this game on a 1050 Ti.
Will probably submit a support ticket.
