I played X-Wing, and I recall a training ground that was VERY helpful in learning the game, before any missions were started.

I am new to Xwing Alliance, and when I loaded the game, I can not find any training ground, nor a way to learn the game.

Just a combat simulator, email, or 1st mission.

I looked at the skirmishes; however, that did not seem to be what I was looking for.

Is this game that different from xwing? Or if I complete beyond the 1st few missions, I can then find my way to the old style xwing game training grounds?

I am perhaps over thining this game, for something that is over 20 years old. Here's hoping that someday they remak all of the swing/tie games, and bring them up to modern graphics.

The first missions in the campaigns work as a tutorial, but mostly for the new stuff that has been added to the core X-wing and TIE Fighter gameplay.
A lot of things are the same from X-wing however, so if you are familiar with that you shouldn't have too many issues.
