It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).

The game will play fine, often for 30 minutes or more, but then it will randomly crash. Just getting the default "... has stopped working" message from Windows. I had the same issue when I played from the original CDs and was hoping that the GOG version would have solved this. Anyone else encountering these issues?

Do you have installed some patch (for example wildescreen)?

No, no patches. I tried running it as an admin, as suggested in the generic help pages but that didn't help.
In the compatibility settings I've checked off the following:

- Run as administrator
- Compatibility mode for : Windows 98/ME
- Reduced colour : 8-bit (256 colours)

Thus far I've been able to play two deathmatch games without a crash, which is promising as I rarely made it through one before crashing before. Seems to have done the trick.
I turned my compatability settings off and it seems to work well for myself. Maybe you should try that.

Also, I noticed that the crashes happen some time after a trade center (Spaceport) is built. I ran a few games where I never built one and had no issues with it.

Same thing happens on XP SP3 - and without having built a Spaceport - but one of the AI oppenents HAD one!
Oddly the tutorial campaign (the one where you play Chewy a lot) has never crashed! Even the scenario WITH the Spaceport!

Thanks, I'll give that a try. I just got another crash, so my combination of compatibility settings obviously isn't doing the trick.
Is there any solution at all for this?

I've been playing this game on and off for a few weeks and the time it takes to crash makes no sense. I just had a game which lasted a minute and forty-five seconds. Other times I've been able to play for an hour with no trouble.
I have regular crash after 30m-1hour of playing too, without any explanation or reason. I try the game with a mod (extended front) and it's all the same sadly. If someone have a solution ...
