Some of the reviews mentioned it being way behind the steam version but that review was a couple of months ago. Is the gog version up to date now?

It doesnt have the patch notes. Does it now recognize the other two games if you have them?
Official GOGs changelogs always outdated.
So it absolutely not help. here the last change number from official changelog by GOG:
SpellForce 3 Fallen God - Patch #7 - Spandauer AI & General Fixes
but there is no date there.

By SteamDb looks like it same version as in Steam. By number. But it looks like be same "behind steam version" as half-year ago. Last update on GOG is 5 months ago.

I don't have this game installed anymore (for the obvious reasons), but according to gogdb the last build is version 1.6a, which I posted about here. Short answer: no.
Man thats really a shame, GOG should put in their contracts something about keeping the games on par with other platforms. I have a few games that were never updated on GOG and are still on the store, but other platforms got updates completely changing the game

I really appreciate your responses and people putting reviews about the lack of updates. I have the entire Spellforce series except for this one and Im not planning to get it due to the lack of updates that were recsived on steam
