I have only my keyboard and i can't make the mother move. I'm brand new to computer
gaming. Do you need a game pad or other device?

No, you just have the ability to move the move around to decide what direction to look and the four keys W, A, S, D. Two of them are for moving forwards/backwards, and two of them to sidestep aka strafe to left or right.
Oh, and left mouse button. It's used as general action key like when you stand in front of a plant to pluck it out or put it down for e.g. to give it to your 5th badger in the beginning to "revive" him.

I seem to have the same problem.
Shelter 1 mac version.
The game does not react to letter keys, no movement.
In the controls section of menu I also can not assign any letter to movement, while numbers, shift, tab etc. works ok.
Any suggestions what may be the problem?
