Do I understand correctly, that this game's DLC is only available for free on Steam, but is paid for on Nexus (registration to download is). But since I have purchased the game on GOG, I do not have an activation code to register it on Steam? So, in other words - buying the game on GOG (19.99 USD comparing to something like 13 USD on Steam) was a grave mistake?

1. Nexus is a free site for user generated mods, it is 100% free to anyone.
2. There is no DLC, there was going to be a DLC but they decided to expand it into a full expansion pack instead and its not out yet
3. We have been talking about UGC, aka "User Generated Content". This game came with a powerful toolbox for creating your own campaigns and users have done just that.
4. It is up to the user who creates a UGC whether he wants to upload it to steam workshop, nexus, both, or their own custom website.
As far as the game is concerned there is no difference between the UGC file regardless of whether you got it from steam or nexus or whatever

1) Oh, ok. Their registration form confuses the hell out of me - there is no "free" option, but you can actually skip phase 1 altogether...
2) By DLC i meant UGC (or any downloadable content really)

Anyway I seem to be getting somewhere with this extra content. The original campaign bugged me to lose 30 minutes of game time, so I got annoyed with it. Thanks for the reply.
I was pissed off too from this registration option. I got the feelling doing something illegal, lol.

It would be nice if we could do a sticky thread for dlc´s that really work, without Messing around with bugs.

thanks.....

Floid: I got the feelling doing something illegal, lol.
Since when has registering something been illegal?
If anything the opposite is the case
I was pissed off too from this registration option.
That's your problem.

Nexus is a third party free site that is unrelated and unaffiliated with gog, steam, or the makers of this game.

Some rare few individuals are hosting their own UGC independently but almost all UGC authors are putting it on steam, nexus, or both.

That was done to save dev time/budget. They are currently working on a save anywhere system which will be added via a patch. Supposed to come out this month

Did I say, that it would be your problem ?

I guess everyone here knows, that Nexus isn´t the developers site......

D_Q_Domy: Non-steam versions can get mods on the Nexus.

You just have to put the downloaded file into

C:/documents and settings/user/AppData/Local/Harebrained Schemes/Shadowrun Returns/ContentPacks

(on XP)

Btw, not Application data, but AppData. It's created after you install the game

just put the rar or zip archive of the mod there and you should have it accessible in the game's main menu when you start a new game
thank you for that since 95% of boards replied with a link to SRR wiki which is now dead from not being paid for instead of just telling people where to put them.

Where do you add User Generated Content (from nexus mods) for Shadowrun returns on Windows 10 ?

(I put the UGC file on the same locations for previous windows versions, the game starts normally. the game sees the UGC, but will not open it....)

Just tried this myself on Windows 10 with "From The Shadows - Run Act I" from Nexus Mods
Installed Shadowrun Returns, started a new game from the main campaign and played for a couple minutes.

Put the "51f589b3376231c80d0018bf-From The Shadows, Run -Act I-" folder from the Mod's zip file into

%localappdata%\Harebrained Schemes\Shadowrun Returns\ContentPacks
Re ran Shadowrun Returns, chose the newly installed Mod, started a game in Hard Mode as it requested, created a character and played a few minutes with no issues.

Tried again with the "A Stitch in Time" Mod from Nexus mods. Again no issues.

Maybe the download you tried was corrupted? Or something went wrong with the mod install process? Did you extract the folder from the zip? Could even try "Verify/Repair" through GOG Galaxy if everything else fails...
