It might not run in Win7, but this game runs perfectly fine in wine (version 1.3 here )

Thanks for the info. I know there are a lot of Linux users around that will find it useful. The game does run fine in Win7 though.

Edit: I mean the GOG version runs fine in Windows 7. GOG's version seems to use a different executable than the retail or patch versions.

Obviously, I didn't try it in win7 myself and just assumed there were problems due to the posts about it. Good to know that it's not the case :)

Which build version of Wine, what videocard/ driver are you using and on which distro?
I couldn' t get it to work on my Noobuntu 11.04 install using Wine 1.3.29 @ nvidia 9800 with propriatary drivers.

I'm having issues too, though I admit to using a laptop (hp pavilion dm1 in this case) and those seem to be more finicky sometimes. (I have the fatal lockup bug in general for instance..)
