I have searched the internet for hours trying to find a solution to this problem, and so far have come up empty handed. I found a few forums that mentioned that they had the same problems, but none of them offered a viable solution. I already tried running the game in a virtual machine running XP, and I couldnt even get the game to start. I thought it might be possible to replace the textures used for the masts, but I cant find any mods for this game and I dont have the know how/ time to do it myself. I saw someone on this forum had the same problem and the recommendation was to use a mod, and there was a link given, but it is no longer up. The rest of the game as far as I can tell works perfectly. Its just this stupid graphics bug. It doesnt seem to be ship specific, when I encounter other ships in the world they have the triangles as well. I was able to start it once where my ship didnt have the triangles, but the two ships next to me both had them. Im running it off my Windows 10 laptop with a NVIDIA 950m GPU. Im really at a loss and would really like to get this resolved, so please if anyone knows of a fix Id appreciate your help!

Thanks!

PB

PS I attached a screen shot of what the triangles look like for your reference.

Interesting. I never had that problem running the original Seadogs, however it has been a bug that has come up in later games in the series. In GOF ERAS2 from Buccaneers Reef we rewrote the particle files and dlls to fix all anomalies.

There was a fix for this for the Pirates of the Caribbean game and New Horizon's mod if I am not mistaken. It has to do with your NVIDIA card and these games not liking the INTEL chipset. I would bet this glitch does not happen on machines running ATI/AMD graphics cards.

I am really not sure if this will work for you or not but I suppose it can't hurt to try it out. http://www.moddb.com/mods/potc-build-mod/downloads/intel-graphics-fix

If I am not mistaken there was an even better INTEL graphics fix for this that was released on Pirates Ahoy! but I have no way to get the link for you because I am banned from that site. Might be worth some searches though.

Good Luck.

I wasnt able to get the POC fix to work. It only lets me get as far as the main menu, and then as soon as I try to load or start a new game, I get nothing but a black screen.

I looked on Pirates Ahoy and all I could find were fixes for Pirates of the Caribbean, not any for Sea Dogs. If anybody knows where a fix is, Id love to hear from you!
