Dartpaw86: The installer update won't show up for me, the game is still version 2.0.0 and there is no indication of any update.

DoctorGOGgles: On the library page it says version 2.0.0 but if you actually download the installer you get

setup_sam_and_max_save_the_world_2.0.0.25.exe
How long ago was this update? Because I installed the game about a month ago. And got those freaky as hell ending credit glitches. If the update was supposed to fix them...

October 2013 and I don't remember what that update was supposed to fix.
Does everyone get this bug or does it depend on hardware/drivers? Is it just the first episode, or is the entire season affected?

I'm asking because for years and years I had something on linux/wine that may be related. My pet theory is that it was hitting a hardware limit in graphics card resources (memory, textures, whatevers), and doing so sooner than expected because wine had already consumed some of them for its directx->opengl translation thing.

I originally got season 1 directly from Telltale soon after release because I was very excited about Sam & Max coming back. Unfortunately the games suffered from graphical glitches when ran on wine that made them near-unplayable. Pretty much every character was invisible. Bosco was just eyeballs and a tongue. Sam & Max were visible but their geometry was distorted, with some parts stretching into infinity. This was wine bug #13612.

It wasn't just me, but not everyone suffered from this. I initially thought that it was an nVidia issue, but then it got reported on ATI too. Eventually I tried it elsewhere with pretty much the same software but newer nVidia hardware/driver, and there was no problem at all.

And sure enough, once I finally upgraded my system it started working fine for me too. I had only played through episode 1 in its buggy state. Telltale installers had online activation so I re-bought from gog.com and finished the season with no further issues, but didn't try episode 1 again.

I have the same problem but I fix it, or more like to say I find it by luck !!!
In Sybil's place she's invisible But if you go to the closet door around there if you point you mouse around the door you will find Sybil's name and click on it !!!

DiggerNick_: I found out the problem. You can actually click her, she's just invisible. Drag your mouse around the closet and you'll see her name pop up. If you click that she will be behind her desk.
Thanks man! Got the same problem, solved thanks to you

by the way, I'm running it on win7; the game version is the 2.0.0.25

Thanks for the fix. Really surprised they haven't fixed this yet as it seems very common.

For me, the closet door was shut and Sybil's name was slighty to the right of the door handle.

JudasIscariot: Please check your accounts as we have just released a patch for Sam and Max.

Minor edit: the patch addresses problems with Episode 5. We are, however, working on getting the other episodes fixed. Thank you for your patience, guys :D.
Any update on this issue, which remains unresolved?

Still unrsolved. I downloaded the game a month ago and came across the same issue when I played it.

More Telltale games have arrived, and Telltale still won't fix this major issue after 3 years?

I bought the version from Telltale when it was new. I downloaded the latest version a few weeks ago and I have the same bug. I'm shocked to read here, that this is a known problem for that long a time and nothing is done about it.
The only reason for the update for me was the widescreen compatibility. The old version has a lot of glitches on the sides when played in 16:9.
Damn. This glitch really ruins that part of the game for me due to the fact that, if you don't know that it's a glitch, makes you think you're just stupid and can't find the solution. I finally cracked after 15 minutes of looking and checked a walkthrough and found it was indeed a glitch that was hindering(I hate checking for walkthroughs for these kinds of games. Makes me feel bad).

Thank you for that closet fix. I scanned the entire room, but never found her name. Lucky someone found it. Someone needs to fix this problem.
Seriously gog, just compensate anyone who bought Sam and max season one.

10 year old game with unfixed bugs
Bumping this as I had the same issue, a big thank you to @Nightmarekiller for the work-around! "Sybil" can be found near to the closet door.
