Is it possible to add German Text and Soundfiles? Is there an German Patch?
I bought the CD Version in german and played the Campaign for many years.
German Voice Acting in the Campaign and the German Units Voice are very great.
Hope there is a way! :)
Hey there,

it's been a while since your post, but i found a way to bring all the german stuff into the GOG version.

I took all the files from the original CD, tested a while and finally put all the needed ones into a zip.
What you get is the full game translated: voice and text.

The File (at Mega): Click me!

HowTo (also as *.rtf in the zip):

1: backup your game folder..
2: delete all files in the 'data\local\' folder..
3: copy all files from the package to the game folder and overwrite existing ones..

Start Sacrifice and have fun in german.. ;o)

Greetings,
Darwaron

I believe you violated EULA by sharing it, also, the campaign will remain as the installation was(after copying local folder with everything it contains). You should attach the maps folder as well if you want to give fully german version of the game. The files from local make menus german, and make all units, including wizards speak german as well. However all the dialogs from campaign are stored in map files, and these are actually english(or whatever language the instalation was).

Hi,

could this really be a violation by just giving german voices/text without any executable or config files? Well, i didn't think about that.. and it's not just the 'local' folder thats packed in the zip. I tried a while before figuring out that all audio was in the map/campaign files; so all necessary ones are inside the package, too. ;o)

Would like to know if someone could clear out that thing about the EULA..

I asked why other language versions aren't included. Especially Polish one that was made by CD Project which is a sister company with GOG.com. It's something about license with Interplay. I didn't read EULA either, but sharing content is worse than just using it. Most of the computer programs allow you to use them with their purpose. Copying part of the files kinda isn't that(purpose of video game is to make people play it). Just saying. You would have to read EULA yourself. I know it's very kind of you, that you want to help the other guy, but you know how dumb law/licenses sometimes are. So keep that in mind. Maybe ask Gog if it's okay if you create such language pack and share it on forums. I don't know.
