I see that the developers are gathering requests for a Linux version of Ruiner on Steam and I just wanted to throw my support behind that but also for a GOG version of the Linux version if it gets made.

devs posted an update on another forum:
Hello Linux-lovers,

Your involvement in RUINER community is awesome and heart warming.
The reason why Linux was removed from the store page is that it will be coming a little bit later.

We originally planned to launch RUINER for PC, Mac and Linux at same time, but we faced some technical challenges in the later stage of the development and porting the game to consoles.

As soon as we launch the PC, PS4 and X1 versions, we’ll focus on the remaining platforms. You can expect an update in a couple of weeks.

We’re sorry if we caused confusion with the mixed messages.

To sweeten the waiting time a little, we can reveal that there will be a small surprise coming together with the RUINER Linux version.

Stay tuned!

Yours truly,
RUINERS

Thanks for the update bro/sephina! The Linux community awaits....
Waiting for the Linux version, too.
One might want to add a +1 to the following

(Yes, I know. Steam. But I happen to have an "accidental" account there; so I used it to post.)

Or maybe contact the developers elsewhere and ask nicely. (As long as they just need some time to fix potential issues it's okay, rather have a polished game than some rushed thing.)

We're here, listening ;)
Nothing changed since the last update - we still have the Linux version on our to-do list. Right now we're focusing on some important fixes and DLCs, so we have to ask for your patience for the time being.

Thanks for your support and interest in the game, cheers!
Thank you. It's good to hear (read) from one of the devs. We (and our cuddly penguins) will be waiting. :)
Steam has a Linux version now. Are there any plans to bring that to GOG ?
looks like 139 votes in community wishlist was not enough:

GOG is not in our plans right now. If we will see a demand for it, then we can invest our time in it.
well, i will not go to steam for it and will not buy windows version obviously.
so no ruiner for me and no money for reikon/devolver...

When and where did the dev say that? Because months ago they promised to add the Linux version on GOG and I can't imagine any logical reason to bring the Windows version but not the Linux version

Thanks @everyone for so many nice comments. We will come back today with the list of chosen testers.
We don't give any system requirements yet, as there are testing still in front of us...
@♤ Evo - changed. Thanks :)

Just wanted to clarify that we are considering GOG Linux version at the moment, but right now we're focusing on polishing the build and debugging one crash, which should take us no more than a week. I'll get back to you in a few days to confirm :)

EDIT: It's coming in a couple of days. Brace yourselves :)

Yay! Linux Version released on GOG. Thanks for Linux support, Reikon Games!

Thanks for the Linux release!

There seems to be some problem with video sequences (intros and such). They don't work on Linux. For example CS_PROLOG_01_Przemo_w_windzie.bik doesn't play at all before first tutorial level opens up.

Does the game store some run log somewhere? I don't see any relevant output in the terminal.

Distro: Debian testing, x86_64. I've seen something about gsm, but I have libgsm1 installed.

Experiencing this issue under Ubuntu 17.10 as well. The only potentially relevant terminal output I get is "Warning: option --plugin-path no longer exists."
