the launcher says controller recommended. It even uses PS4 artwork but this is not showing my ps4 controller in the drop down. I changed the 0 to one as suggested on other forums in the cfg file and nothing. ANyone else having this issue or know how to fix it?

I have this issue too. Maybe I can choose once game is loaded , ill have to check that.

Same problem here. No PS4 controller detected.
I tried to edit the settings_local with a 1 and put this file in read only mod, but nothing works.

I also tried another controller. Same result.

I have tried the cfg trick and no luck. Maybe it's something to do with the specific controller? I have read that people on Steam are having similar problems, and the cfg fix works for some people but not everyone.

Just checking I'm understanding this (I have an Xbox controller instead), when you plug in your PS4 controller, 'gamepad' doesn't show in the drop down menu right?

I have a logitech controller and I have the exact same issue. I tried using the x360ce emulator but the problem is still there. I tried the cfg trick too and it didn't work either.

I kid you not - this worked for my Logitech controller...
Unplug it, and plug it back in. (The game and launcher must be closed.)
My controller is now recognized. *shrug*

Annoying as it is, your controller needs to be plugged in and ready to work before you start the launcher. Not after.

And starting with keyboard/mouse, the 'menu' can still be moved by the controller, but it will not accept key presses or anything else. Quite annoying, at first thinking it's working but need to restart...

I finally got my Xbox controller to work. I download my gog games thru the Download for people with limit internet way so I don't have to use the GOG installer.

I chose my the RebelGalaxy,exe that went to the desktop after installing it.
I Right clicked and chose "Properties"
Clicked the "Open File Location"

It takes you to the file path.
My is:
Windows(C:) > Program Files(x86) > GOG Galaxy > Games > Rebel Galaxy

Scroll down till you see the file called:

ORGE.CFG

Open that with notepad

Then I just added at the very bottom:

Gamepad=1

Save and it should allow you to use your Xbox game pad or ps4 controller.
You still have to choose it in your setup screen when you first load the game

***Do Not choose the PS4 Mapping for Xbox Controller***

I downloaded this game and it ran fine for an hour or so with my xbox controller. I came back to the game later it did noooot work and I tried a whole bunch of shenananigans and no luck. let me know if anyone figures it out.
