Is it normal that in the English version of RoA2 the intro stops about a minute earlier than the German version? I'm asking to avoid potential problems with other cutscenes later on in the game (I don't know if there are more but it seems like there are some in the beginning at least).

I have no problem watching the whole intro in the German version but I'd rather not go through the trouble of hex editing my party from English ROA1 to play.

Attached picture is the last part of the intro that shows up in the English copy.

Edit: I've converted my party to the German version, but I think the question still stands.

I've encountered the same problem with the intro. It's a freeze - I know the intro is supposed to run longer, thanks to the floppy version I'm familiar with.
I've solved it on my system after some mucking around with replacing the intro and/or game executable. Don't remember what exactly did the fix entail, will check and post instructions how to do it.

Okay, we've got a problem here. It looks like in the process my copy has ended up as a patchwork of files from no less than three different releases of the game. Replacing the executable and part of the data fixes the intro, but I cannot predict what other side effects it may have.

Well, GoG seems to have the rights to the floppy version, and if its true that version normally has the full intro, GoG should be able to fix it. I don't suppose GoG could mix the files from other releases, but at least they should be able to get a fixed version of the floppy release (from a copy that has the full working intro).

It looks possible that something went wrong when GoG added the full intro in one of their earlier updates (http://www.gog.com/forum/realms_of_arkania_series/realms_of_arkania_1_2_fixed). Maybe they added a bad copy of some files or left out something by mistake?

The trade-off would be replacing intro and other cutscenes with slideshows, as well as losing a large chunk of the voiceovers. :/

In the file "dosbox_realms2.conf" in the "[sblaster]" section, change irq=7 to irq=5
