I wanted to switch a pole arm weapon for my mage with his magic wand but didnt know if you use an a weapon with another weapon that wasnt his he will refuse to give up his wand is that because his greed lvl was high? or is the wand an item a magiacian cant do without?

It has nothing to do with greed. The wand is a "personal item" that can't be sold or lost. It will always stay in the inventory of the mage. The same goes for the witches broom and a couple of NPC weapons.
but what can i do with the wand i heard i can enchant it? how does that work?

When you rest at an inn you can choose to try and learn a wand spell with your mage. It may or may not work, if it doesn't it is a good idea to keep trying to get them all before heading off on your quest.

Spell #1 makes the wand unbreakable.

Spell #2 Will make the wand double up as a torch, very useful and will save you lugging around torches.

Spell#3 Can turn the wand into a length of rope.

Spell#4 Will let your mage cast spells at a reduced cost.

Later in the game when you start getting your hands on poison try using some on the wand, its a good tip i read in one of the manuals and does provide a nice alternate attack for the mage when the astral points are starting to dry up.
thanks thats very handy expacily that light.
There's no better weapon for a mage than his wand.
so i dont need to buy him a weapon?
No need to buy another weapon and no need to raise other melee weapon skills, not even unarmed. Only throwing weapons might be worth raising if you want to throw ninja stars, but I never used another weapon than the wand.

i bought him a polearm i got 1 warrior 1 dwarf 1 elf and 2 mages 1 combat specialist and 1 travel is that a good combo havent started yet takes lot of time creating a grp
The magic wand has exactly the same combat properties as the polearm you can buy for your mage and it is unbreakable.

I recommend adding a sixth character, a second elf would fit well, ice elves are a little different than the other elves.

Having 2 mages can be annoying since they can't wear good armor. A warrior or a dwarf in good armor can simply absorb most damage dealt from enemies while mages take almost the full damage from weapons (example: a 5-10 damage sword does 0.2 damage per hit average vs a dwarf with 9 AC but 5.5 average per hit vs an AC 2 mage).
Mages can be very powerful but require a lot of micromanagement, at level ups I recommend putting everything into hitpoints and getting 3-8 mana for trading in 10 spell raises.
thanks for the advise and is there a type of magician you reckomanned? i mean wich specialist
All schools are ok. It's only about a little bonus for learning some spells faster.
I took a combat mage, but movement or other specializations aren't bad either, choose according to your preference.

Definitely raise the teleport spell to at least -4 fast, it can help in some locations.
i think its done great that you can build your own mage to your own style

One easily overlooked but somewhat crucial spell is "reverse transformation" (I don't know the excact English term). It is used to depetrify a petrified character. None of the healers in BoD can do this. On the other hand, paralü, the petrification spell, is a good investment, as it is an instakill spell.

And save regularly! I can't stress this enough. This game has some permanent death situations and if you screw up with the informers, or lose a critical piece of equipment, the game becomes unwinnable.
thanks for the advise idnt know this game was so seep :)
