I bought it today and the highest resolution I could run was 1280x720. Not cool if you have a native 1920x1080 display.

Modifying the config files did not help, so I started a research and found the solution in one YouTube comment.

There is a file "system/hardware_settings_restrictions.xml" in the game folder.
At the bottom there is an data item and the argument maxWidth="1280" (This was the case for me. Maybe something went wrong with the installation).
Change it to your desires and you can pick higher resolutions (depending on your hardware) in the game.

thank's for the tip :) also work in 2560x1440 by replacing "1280" by "2560"
I found this problem on two computers so I think there is a problem on the installation file.. could be reported to GOG for a fix, will try that :)
