I was surprised when I came in here after downloading Postal 2. I didn't realise so many people would waste their time coming to a forum for a game they don't play to tell us that not only is our game disgusting, we're disgusting for playing it, when shortly after berating us for enjoying a low budget black comedy/political satire/social commentary, they go right back to killing Arabs in COD4, or Fable which actually rewards you for killing helpless civilians? So what if the game isn't perfect, it was made by what, 12 people? And it's a great effort at that.
Gad damn, that irritates me. It reminds me of my school years, when Christians would come up to me on the street, yelling about how I'm going straight to hell and I'm a disgusting person for having long hair and wearing a black leather jacket, and that God (those Christians) hated my taste in music so much that he was going to make me pay for my CD's with being tortured until the end of time.
I hate people that bitch about and lump Christians together. Nice job destroying your argument there though. Otherwise I would have agreed with you nothing like trying to turn it into a religious argument.
What? I'm not lumping anyone, I was talking about when Jehovah's Witnesses used to come up to me on the street, and harass me, an (ex) Catholic. Actually, JH don't believe in hell, must've been another denomination, I don't remember. Anyway, where did you get the lumping Christians together from? And trying to turn it into a religious argument? Just jumping to conclusions after you wrote me off without making the slightest effort to understand the context in which I offered my statement.
It was a comparison of how similarly it makes me feel when people bitch about games like Postal, but have no problem with other violent games, and try to put me down for having a sense of humour, and when Those Particular Christians Who Regularly Accosted Me on the Street told me I'm damned to Hell for wearing a protective motorcycle jacket and listening to music.

Some people don't think Postal was a good game, and that it shouldn't be on Gog because it doesn't meet the "good" criteria. I can name games on Gog that I don't think are good, but doesn't mean I go into their subforum and state that it doesn't deserve to be on gog.
What one person thinks is a lousy game, some people will think is a good game.
Sure Postal 2 had a lot of technical issues, and the gameplay was pretty okay, but the story and humor made it stand out.
Glexn, I couldn't agree with you more.
Also, Postal 2 is brilliant.

Ugh... I know exactly what you mean. that form of hypocrisy is everywhere in society if you look hard enough. But Postal 2, while not being a 'good' game, is a huge guilty pleasure of mine and I like it because its ridiculously over the top and fun.
I am a Christian fundamentalist (as in fundamentals of the faith, not necessariliy overzealous or militant), acknowledge the faith's soteriological exclusivity (i.e., Jesus is the only way to salvation), am pretty conservative politically (anti abortion, anti sodomy, pro gun), and I happen to have long hair, wear a black leather jacket, have quite an extensive collection of heavy metal CDs (as well as other music), and, of course, find Postal 1 & 2 hilarious in their hyperbole.
What was that about miscategorizing?
Re DeadlyRamon: good on you.
Too many Christians now seem to have the Puritan ideal at heart: the haunting fear that anyone, anywhere may be having a little fun.
Kidding, of course.
But I was raised to believe the democratic way: If I don't like something on (for example) TV, for whatever reason, I just change the channel. I don't need to go out, form a posse and stomp whatever it was out of existence; I especially don't form virulent opinions on something I haven't even tried. (My personal standard of hypocrisy.)
The seven posts here are refreshing. What exactly is the difference between blasting a computer sprite dressed as a Nazi, a Russian, an Alien, or your irritating neighbor? This was a rather interesting game with good, if cartoony, graphics. I laughed out loud several times and filled a few empty hours. What more can I ask for six bucks?
I was getting sad reading all the hateful posts whining about how bad this or that is. Glad for the reminder that not all gamers sound like 12-year-olds.
I think this game is disgusting.

Indeed! I mean who are we to decide whats good or bad? it's just a matter of an opinion but I love Postal just as I like Duke I know many people that hate duke because it isn't like COD. But then again who are we to decide whats good or bad?

Maybe it's because you get killed in it?

Sorry, I couldn't hold myself.
To me, Postal 2 isn't great, but it's fun and memorable. The bugs and bad AI strangely enhances the experience, and while I think the humor kind of sucks - it's still much funnier than Family Guy.

I don't care what other people think of me for liking this game. They can just go and play their boring, generic military shooters, while I play some games that are actually fun.

Wow those people sound really stuck up. I mean fair enough if people don't personally like the game, but really people want it removed or something? *sigh* Another reason why I hate people... :D
Faith is a personal choice. Entertainment is a personal choice. Judgement of others is a personal choice. We're all incredibly lucky to live in places that allow us to express and fulfill our personal choices.

These choices are also a responsibility. We must allow others to make their own choices just as we enjoy our ability to do so for ourselves.

I love Postal 2. I love it like crazy. If you don't like it, that's cool, but some of us do and if you prefer other things then you're lucky if you enjoy those like I enjoy Postal 2. You can judge me and I can judge you but in the end as long as we are doing what makes us happy with a positive outlook then we're all doing what's best for the world.
Yep, I was really surprised when I saw all the hate to this game. As far as I'm concerned I love it. It's so fun just to walk around paradise city... And there is so much stuff to discover! It feels much more like a sandbox than other titles like the GTA series: Every building and house is unique and you can go into them to explore and find awesome things like the flaming-immortal-killer-dogs or the "Tora Bora" complex. Also I can't help loving the Postal Dude, his quotes are so awesome!

This game is really fun and I think it suits GOG ;D
