Hello Players,

I've been having trouble installing planescape torment on my Windows 7 64bit os. If you didn't try this give it a chance. This has seem to help me install the game without errors.

setup_planescape_torment_2.0.0.#.exe

before you try to install it.. right click on it and go to properties.

Click on menu Compatibility,

Check run this program in compatibility mod for windows XP (service Pack 2)

Below under Privilege level make sure you check "Run this program as an administrator".

This should help you avoid the ddrawfix error.

Now that its installed before you click on the launch button or on the game icon right click and open to file location.

Find the Torment application and repeat above.

open properties > compatibility > check windows XP SP2 and Check run as admin.

I hope this helps.

Setup-ddrawfix seems to not like win 7 64bit much. :P
Hm, I didn't have to set any compatibility flags, but I also never install anything into the default Program Files folders because Win7 is paranoid about them and UAC is evil. (And it probably doesn't even care about the admin rights outside of those folders...)

So, if you tried to install it into the default location, then these are probably the usual access issues, avoidable by choosing a neutral install path, e.g. C:\Games. Setup-ddrawfix likes Win7 x64 just fine, it dislikes specifically being put into a restricted folder, this is actually very common with older games.
All my games are installed into C:\Games\ folder. My UAC is always off. I don't know why the ddrawfix error showed up when I finished installing PS Torment .. But for me to get around it I did the following above. I posted this to help those who might have experienced a similar glitch.

I figure it can't hurt. :)
Alright, then you've gotta specify what you mean by "ddrawfix error". I looked into its debug file (SETUP-DDRAWFIX.DEBUG), and there is in fact a error message there... about failing to open the WeiDU.log file. That file is used by various mods to keep track of the changes, and since the ddrawfix installs itself automatically right after the game, it also ends up having to spawn that file (successfully - the first record in the log is for ddrawfix). Outside of that, there are no warnings, so I'm curious about what kind of an error message you've got that could be fixable with a compatibility flag.
Can't I've uninstalled it and then reinstalled it with the method above. It deleted the original errors. I have no interest in repeating it. :)

All I can remember is when the ddrawfix didn't work I tried to manually force it directly. Again it showed the error. So I uninstalled it deleted the directory and started fresh with the method above. No errors after that.
