Hello,
I've installed PoE on my Mac (OsX 10.8.5) and downloaded every update.
So today I had PoE version 1.06 and I downloaded the 2.0 patch, unfortunately the patcher says:
"This patch will not work with your game version!".

[I already tried to delete /Applications/Pillars of Eternity.app/Contents/_CodeSignature/CodeResources - but no luck and I put it back on its folder]

Then I tried to install The White March (without the update) and the installation went OK but still, at the opening screen, the game tells me my version is 1.06.

Any idea what I can do?
Did you install all 3 1.06 patches (original one and the two hotfixes)? There were 3 1.06 versions released, is what I'm saying. If you forgot to apply any of the 2 hotfixes, that might explain why the 2.0 patch doesn't work.

But I fear your installation might be broken now, because the patch needs to be applied before the expansion AFAIK.

yes I installed all 3 :)
Now I back up my saves and I try to install the full PoE 2.0 version

edit:
just download the 6gb game (already version 2.0) and then installed the white march. everything works

I am having the problem with 1.06 second hotfix patch refuses to install over the first(deleted installation and redid updates)

I have no data bandwidth left that I can afford to download the ENTIRE installer after already downloading the patch twice incase it was corrupted the first time and white march.

Re did the install from scratch because 2.0 patch refused to install.... something is wrong with the gog update files.

Either a patch is updating the game version wrong... or the patches after are looking for the wrong version.

In that case it might be best if you used Galaxy, because everyone says the downloads are significantly smaller. Someone said the last patch was like 100 MB. Even if you didn't use Galaxy until now, you can simply import already installed GOG games into it.

You've been misinformed. Galaxy downloads are currently uncompressed and it's not unusual for Galaxy to completely re-download the entire game even when there is a small patch. What you describe, if true, is quite uncommon with Galaxy.

This is very true. After downloading the 2.0 patch several times over and it not working a single time I tried galaxy for the first time. After importing POE it went ahead and proceeded to redownload 10gigs of everything onto my PC when I only needed 2.0 patch. Between the failed downloads and the 10 gigs this has wasted 15 gigs of my monthly data plan.

Galaxy and 2.0 POE patch are seriously screwy and might cause charges from my IP for going over my limit at this rate.
OMG. Thanks for clarification then. Looks like they still got a long road ahead with Galaxy.
