I'm right at - what I presume - is the end of Act III, I have to go to the Burial Isle and from what I gather, I will complete my druid's companion and go to the end of the game. But I still haven't even advanced with the grieving mother's companion quest, because every time I speak with her I get the same answers and no new things to talk about. I have gone through every possible question I can ask her regarding the memories, or at least what I can see, and according to a guide a read I should be able to speak with her about a birthing bell, which shoul advance the quest, but I haven't been able to do that.

The part I'm stuck at, is where she says something along the liens of "tell me what you saw, show me what you saw, where were you" and I have 3 lines to choose from, and a fourth that's blocked because I'm not a cypher. I tried all 3 but she always ends up saying something like "I do not feel the memory, I don't know if it's mine"

I was going to try and finish the game but I don't want to leave a companion quest unfinished if I can help it, the others I already finished. I was wondering if anyone could give me some clues or direct answers such as "do this and the quest will advance".

Thanks in advance!

I haven't made it to the grieving Mother yet, but I'm almost there I think, but since you did all the other companion quests I have a couple questions for you ;)

1. What's the quickest way to be done with Durance? I can't stand him and don't want him in my party ;)

2. The Dwarf Ranger - I'm pretty sure I found the cliffs I'm supposed to find (area right before Dyrford Village), but when I go down to the bottom there is water in the way and my party can go no further. Nothing happens there. Maybe I have to finish the Temple of Woedica first?
The personal quest of Grieving Mother takes much in-game time, so it's very important that you keep her in your party. She will open up only after time has elapsed, and that could be weeks, not days, of in-game time. If you are not getting the options, then she is not ready to open up to you (because you're not a Cipher). Also be aware that if you make her angry with your replies, she will leave the party for good.

Hmm, I see. Maybe I should sleep a lot in the fortress to spend time. Thanks for the answer, hopefully it will be just what I need!
Both Durance and GM have dreams, memories and/or talks after sleep. And those are triggered by certain storyline events or progress.

Durance is especially hard because he stops talking after a few topics so you have to sleep just to go through all the regular dialogue with him.
And a journal trigger is currently bugged, the one about the dream of his staff, but you can talk about the staff regardless and the quest progresses normally even though the journal doesn't.

It's best to have the conversations with him in your stronghold.

And Sagani's quest isn't in Stormwall Gorge, it's in Pearlwood Bluff.

Thanks.

Yeah, I figured out Sagani's shortly after this post. Durance however .... still huge problems with him. I've read there are two dream sequences to go through, and I've had one. I got the dialogue about the staff, and him being blurry, but I've slept so many times now (camped) and that 2nd dream will not trigger.

I wish there was some way I could know for sure if mine was bugged or not, so I could just give up and swap him out.

In those dialogue you need to match what you seen in her dream with the way grieving mother saw it, that mean you need to request to see her memories again and put emphasis on the description. Is not one time to choice the correct dialogue but 3 times. Though the first time an Int of 16 will help you.

, I just finished her quest yesterday and this type of interaction only happened for the first part.

Hm, I guess I'll try talking some more, maybe what she dreams changes slightly every time and cycles betwwen the possible answers? cause I tried all and didn't move forward with the quest.
While searching for answers on Durance's quest, I found a thread on the obsidian forum that was related to the Grieving Mother quest.

Apparently, according to the poster, a problem with the Durance quest's final trigger and ending (some ceremony event you come across ... idk, I haven't made it that far yet) not triggering, was because Grieving Mother's quest depended on that same event and was taking precedence over Durance's if they were in the party together.

If you have finished Durance's quest and know of the event I'm talking about, try taking GM back to that location.

IF, of course, the info I'm coming across is correct.

I hate dialogue quests.

Oddly, that could explain why I can't finish Durance quest. Oh well, I suppose will be fixed in the next patch,
Yes! I finally advanced with her quest, I had to talk to her and say a specific set of lines in a certain order, can't believe I missed that. Thanks everyone for your help!
