metalreflectslime: Does the Mac OS X version of Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire crash for anyone else?

I played it on two Macs: a 2012 iMac, which was fine at first but slowed down and eventually crashed after I left the first island, and a 2014 Macbook. The Macbook was fine if slow after that patch which fixed the black screen.
