Yes, but don't do it until you have exited from the Cilant Lis area, south. That area is scripted to kill any party members. There are two ways you can do it:

1. use the console: ManageParty
2. go to an inn and ask the innkeeper about hiring new adventurers -- this will cost you money.
So i can customise a party how i want & who i want or from existing NPCs???
You can make characters at inns. You will find recruitable npcs in various places. You can put in your team whoever you want. You can park those you don't want with you at your stronghold.

The only problem with doing away with the recruitables is that they have quests. They have to be with you to work the quests. If you don't care about that, then just make up your own team-members and forget about the recruitable npcs.
Ok got it. Thanks mates :)

I really dislike that you're punished for creating a custom party by losing a decent amount of experience for companion quests. At least they're short and don't net that much exp I suppose.

You can do most companion quests quickly, you don't need to have them as permanent party members, just pick them up once their quest locations are unlocked, do their quest and then drop them back to the keep. There are a couple of exceptions that force you to have them in your party for most of the game (Durance and Grieving Mother).

That's possible if you either use guides to tell you what to do or if you do a very save/load-heavy game. If you are trying to explore your way through the story it is not feasible to include these guys only at the critical moments.
By opening the console and wrote Manageparty, nothing happened. What exactlly i have to write?

Sorry, I assumed everybody knew this by now. You first have to enable cheat commands, by typing:

iroll20s

Note that doing this will disable achievements, if that bothers you.

So, you type:

iroll20s
ManageParty
Yes ok, i opened the "manage party" console and???? I can only dismiss my NPC. I want to create my own. Can i?

Oops! I forgot that creating a character is a different command. You need to use:
OpenCharacterCreationNewCompanion <Cost> <Level>

So, if you want a level 3 character that costs you nothing, type:

OpenCharacterCreationNewCompanion 0 3
