Did anyone try to get this game to run on Mac with Wine or other tools?
Does it work or are there any major issues?

I'd like to find out before buying the game so pls let me know if you've made any experience so far :)

Hi,

Sorry for replying so late. After much struggle and frustration, I finally got my copy of Pharaoh Gold to work. Just note that I'm using the physical CD bundle; I'm not sure if the same applies to the GOG download. The usefulness of this post is variable, but here it is (for what it's worth).

My copy of Pharaoh Gold has two CDs (Pharaoh and the Cleopatra add-on). Using Wineskin, I installed Pharaoh via the setup file from the CD. After installation finished, Pharaoh played normally, albeit without any sound whatsoever. The Cleopatra CD comes with a patch (v 1.1???), which I then installed to my existing Wineskin wrapper for Pharaoh. After that, the game ran perfectly with full sound and no discernible flaws. Unfortunately, I'm having some trouble installing the add-on via similar methods (two failed attempts prompted me to restart from scratch at least two times). Right now, I'm just happy to be enjoying the original Pharaoh with full sound and music.

I apologize if this isn't very helpful. I'm not computer-literate, so this is the very least I could offer. But still, Wineskin might be the key to running this game on a Mac. I would also recommend checking out PaulTheTall's site, because I think he has a solution for GOG customers.

Cleopatra CD does not work and never will. You must use the GOG.com version to make use of Cleopatra on newer operating systems.
