yeah nothing beats the original series, i agree with that floid.

panzer corp was cool, i liked the updated graphics and sound effects. it was just some of the decisions that the guys who made it made that left me scratching my head in wonder. like level bombers dominating naval units the way they do, but seeming worthless at everything else. just didn't make sense in my opinion.

i bought it because i thought it was just panzer general with better graphics, and if that would have been the case i'd have been in hog heaven, but the changes just weren't to my liking i guess, no biggie.

at least matrix wasn't charging 80 or 90 dollars for it like they were GGG's war in the east. that is nuts. and they wonder why their games sell so poorly.
Maybe my post sounded a little harsh.

As panzer corps was released, I was thinking about buying it too.

Matrix price policy isquestionable. Charging $80 (&vat) for a GG game is not even the worst.
Charging 40-50 dollars for years old games, which you can buy for example via Amazon for 5€, is simply a joke.
true that, i ended up buying war in the east from some guy on amazon for cheap. good thing too because that game was a snooze fest of the highest degree.

One would think that paying top dollar for a game would at least get you some decent support. Not so.

Support at Matrix is insulting.
that's a good point zandolf, for 80 dollars they should send a tech guy to your house with pizza when there are issues.

i saw that unirty of command came to steam maybe some more of their games will start going there or gog if we're lucky.
I also play PG2 (purchased from GOG) with Open General (which is free). Open General allows more resolutions (PG2 in 1600x900!).
I would SO buy the CD version of the original Panzer General. Nothing like those stamp sized movies in front of every mission to set the mood.. :)

Open General

In case someone's wondering about Fantasy General; it's not a direct cone, but it seems to be at least inspired by it: Battle for Wesnoth.
