So, I finished the intro sequence with the family, then the game said "Wake up!".
I am now stuck in an endless loop of my sleeping character sitting at the bottom of the "sleep tube", occasionally lifting up into an almost standing position, waiting for a few seconds, and then falling down into a sitting position again.

I'm trying to press every conceivable key, but he's not waking up. I'm playing on keyboard.

I played with gamepad so far but I will test this with keyboard asap.

After the intro sequence the tube will open and the boy wakes up automatically, standing in the tube. You can then simply go right out of the screen. At least that is how it worked for me. So you getting stuck in the tube must be a bug. Did you try to restart the game?

Yes, multiple times. Unfortunately, now the game hard freezes after entering the house in the tutorial. Can't even be shut down through task manager :-(

Maybe you should delete the savefiles and config files from here
C:\Users\USER\AppData\Local\Orphan
If this does not help I would recommend to uninstall and reinstall it again.

There is a common freeze reported with picking up the first item. The developer is working on fixing this. I too had the crash. I was able to shut the game down manually by bringing up the taskmanager with the windows key, then right clicking on it and bringing it to front. When I first started task manager the game was on top and I couldn't see it.

The good news is that this first time crash is a one off. After it happens it should not happen again.
Hi Alcator.504, can you confirm this happened on 1.0.0.5? I fixed a bug yesterday that was causing some issues very similar and was hoping this one would be swept up with it.

EDIT: I was just able to cause a very different glitch with this part which is leading to me just rewrite this script from scratch. There are some issues here, they just appear to be very rare/random which has made it tricky to figure out.

Hey Brandon,
1) I managed to kill the first boss and I described how to beat him easy in the other thread :)
2) How difficult would it be to implement log files which maybe could help you locating and fixing those crash errors?
Well long-story short I solved the waking up bug, it's going in the next patch.

Log files... honestly at this rate it would be another thing to go wrong lol. Now GM:Studio which I use has something similar built-in, it's just stripped out when I make a public build. I'm using it to get close to the freeze. I made some changes yesterday that I hoped might have cleared it up.

Once I get through my current list of bugs in the next couple of hours I'll patch and then I'll do some testing on the freezes and see if they are still present. They are the last hurdle.
Hi!

I've got the same issue with waking up in 1.0.0.7.
Since you haven't mentioned what would be the patch version name with the issue fixed, I just inform that in 1.0.0.7 it persists (at least for me).

Love the atmosphere already though, can't wait to continue the adventure!

Should have been fixed in 1.0.0.6 afaik. It is mentioned in the changelog for 1.0.0.6 as well. You could try to install the game using the offline installer .

Offline installer is of version 1.0.0.7 (24952) for me=)
However, installed from the offline installer - same issue=(

Oh, you are correct. Then both versions are identical.
Strange that you are still encountering this issue. Question: is this the "freeze" when waking up issue or the "error message and crashing" issue which is described here?

No, nothing crashes, just a plain stuck kid animation loop and that's it.
I noticed that even despite while I was deleting the galaxy version I chose to delete all the saves/configs, after the installation of the offline version happened the configs seemed to got revived (language option I changed that was at least).

So maybe should I try to manually delete stuff?

It might at least be worth a try at least. You can find those config files (along with the savefiles) here:
C:\Users\USER\AppData\Local\Orphan
Tried that - nope, it stays the same...moreover, even the lang option stays the same (cloud sync I guess).
Very strange.

Well, I have one thing to be suspicious: I've got a controller Logitech F710 which can run under no other drivers but xbox 360 (no logitech software for this device), so maybe this can be the source of the issue?
