Having had this game since the original release I would really like to have it at the last patch. There is no info on what version this is but the ORB .exe under details says it's version 1.001, but the game went from version 1.01-1.02-1.03-1.04. I have the updater from the original creators saved to CD but it only works from a specific version to the final version. The updater I have is version 1.01 to 1.04 and it goes until it gets to the game .exe and fails as the exe is a mismatch. I suppose it doesn't matter as while you can find links to the patches online all the links are long dead so I probably could never get the patch I need even if I knew what version the GOG release is but I'd still like to know.

I guess no one knows for certain but I hope GOG will get this game updated to 1.04. That update replaces the 2D star map with a 3D map and many other improvements. I do love this game but it kind of sucks playing a gimped version after playing the better one for around a decade.

I will be uploading my Orb Planetary Mod to the MODDB.

It will have the 1.04 patch update install.

Now patch the game first to make sure it's updated before installing the mod.
If this patch doesn't work on your game [I THINK YOUR GAME HAS TO BE THE U.S VERSION] then let me know, and I will ZIP my entire ORB game folder and send it to you.

Then all you have to do is to place the folder on your computer and start the game because ORB seems to be portable.
Meaning, once the entire game is in a folder, the folder itself becomes the entire game since it does not need to install any files to your registry.

I placed the ORB folder on several computers without using the disc, and they all work, so ORB is portable.

ModDB sucks because it would not upload the mod and their site kept giving me errors.
